as good as Pat's site is for tuning our carbs i was having trouble with the bike hunting at cruising so had a search online,stumbled upon this site http://www.triumph-bonneville.com/images/Jet6.pdf turns out to be a lot to read well worth it tho imho,turns out my problem was in the airmixture settings had a play with the setting while riding(i can do that with the thumb screws fitted Thanks Brent) minor adjustment like a 1/3rd of a turn,rode for 5 minutes shut her down rolled to a stop and checked the colour of the plugs all good for me

My bike never hunts. It just barks a lot.

The issue could have also been fixed by just turning the stock screws, just not on the fly & obvioulsy not as conviently, however...

best way is still to warm the engine and do a proper adjustment.

thats all well and good Ian "but" poor dumb was looking for a blockage in the main jet cirucitafter reading thru the manual realized it could have something to do with the mixture settings

I just changed jets and used the same mixture screws. It sure beats the "d" shaped factory screws.
