Got to go to a sneak preview Tuesday night of the new Thunderbird in Phoenix,Az.It actually looks alot better in person than in the pictures.Very nice looking bike. They would not start it for us,so sorry no report there.I got to sit on it.It felt very comfortable, peg location, bars, etc. It also felt very light for as heavy as it is.It feels much lighter than the Rocket III.I really like the wheels on the thing, they look high quality and lite wheight. If it runs as well as it looks they ought to sell a bunch of them.No I did not put money down, but yes they are taking orders. The speedo location in the tank I did not care for,but that can be fixed.Overall I believe they have a winner.Hopefully the economy does not kill too many sales.I heard a few of the Triumph sportbike riders and RocketIII riders commenting on how they are going to order them.I did not truely expect to hear that from the sportbike riders,so that is a positive note that they even liked the looks of it.They all actually sounded excited about the new bike.I am still paying on the one I got,so it will be at least a year if I go ahead and get one.

Makes perfect sense. The last time they fired up one of those paper mache motors, it blew up half a city block in Thailand.

I have been advised that those high quality wheels are the same as on the Speedmaster.

Yep that's what I said before, they LOOK like the same style I never said they were the same wheel. I even stated that the bolt pattern on the rotor is different.

Got to sit on the new Tbird today while at the Triumph factor trailer demo day in Mountain View, Ca. They had a black one which was as said by a factory guy to be a totally stock bike. Sorry my picture was too many Kb's to fit. Looks like I'm just about two months away from delivery of my bike. Have to say that what I sat on had an extremely comfortable seat, was well balanced (no fuel in the tank) and looked 100% more beautiful than any pictures I have seen to date. Unless the bike is a total dud when I test ride it, there is no question that I will be taking it home. I told the Factory guy I did not like the tank badge and he said there will be optional badges for the Tbird. He said he had seen one that said Thunderbird. What an outstanding looking bike and definitely a Triumph through and through. Gary
