found a pretty neat trike for my son. He just turned 13 and always wants to go riding bikes (bicycles) with me and my other son during the warmer months, but is petrified of falling over (he is mildly autistic and so SUPER-sensitive to certain things). Well, he's also built like the proverbial toothpick and so I wanted to find something that had gears since we live in a hilly part of Connecticut. Finally found an adult three-wheeler WITH a 6-speed gearset. He took to it like a duck to water and I haven't been able to pry him off of it, even though it's been in the mid-40's and drizzling since he got it! Just wait till it gets warm, he's going to give Lance Armstrong a run for the money... Anywhooo, here he is with the new ride, and if you know anyone who is in a similar situation, this is the ticket to ride, literally!

Thanks! He was asking about putting a motor on it, but I'm not sure if that frame will be strong enough for a 790cc parallel twin, what do you think? OH, wait, he meant an electric motor, my bad!

Sweet ride! And he can carry snacks for you guys

They do make little 25 or 50 cc motors you can strap onto bikes.....

I inherited one very much like that. Off came the basket, and I built a mini stake bed pick-up out of PVC fence boards. Even found a pair of 26" Cheater Slicks from a former Schwinn store. It was cool for cruising the back roads when I needed to carry a light load.

Glad he's having so much fun with his first set of wheels. Could be the start of something BIG!

Very cool!

That looks like it has a wide (tractor-type) seat. We've been trying to find a wider seat to mate up with a trike for a guy I work with. He's got pretty severe CP and needs a wider seat for stability. This gives us another place to look. Thanks!

Will

Awesome! Classic looking spoked wheels just crying out for for a playing card or two.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

Target has random bike stuff, including some pretty wide and cushy seats, but maybe not wide enough... Certainly an inexpensive thing to try tho, maybe give it a look.

Cool...but...

Needs higher bars...and an "UMPH" sticker!!!!

And dump the basket for a crate of some kind (or paint it black)

And a big "AWOOOGA" klaxon or 24v air horn.

Then it'd be cooler.

Are you gonna gut the pipes and rejet?
