This picture has bee the bane of my life for the last week!!!
I've tried all ways to scan it then reduce the size to fit this site - took it to a mate who managed it in 3 minutes flat! Bugger ...
The write-up says things like:
1. 2007 project.
2. Goldwing competition.
3. Spies say the project is past the drawing board and into clay modeling.
4. Cruise control ditched on cost grounds.
5. Revised gearing to keep rvs low at higher speed.
6. No footpegs - replaced with boards.
7. Raked-back bars (like Classic?).
8. Plusher seat with more upright riding position.
9. Electronically adjustable screen.
10. Fairing mounted anti-vibration mirrors.
11. Adjustable side panels to the fairing for rider adjustment.
12. High back seat for pillion.
13. A selection of 12V power outlets around the bike (heated clothing?).
14. No bike specific sat-nav or stereo developed yet
15. Clocks remain with added fuel gauge.
16. Shaft drive retained (why wouldn't it??).
The bike is said to be an offspring from early feedback received from Rocket buyers.
It highlighted the idea as a viable option.
Triumph were contacted about the bike and said:
"At the moment all that we can say is that this sounds like speculation that may or may not come true."
I like the idea of the bike.
Obviously we're looking at someones idea of what it might look like but I don't like the nose design - looks dated to me.
I think it looks like an old Trophy!

Thought afterwards I should have just opened it and used copy.

Be fair, I did say go to the photo section ..
Wadda ya think of it though Benny?
I'd have considered one if two things fell into place:
1. I was still with my wife (trips etc)
2. She liked bikes ..

I think it's only natural for a bike that size!! Bout time really. I have yet to get a good look at the classic pullback bars to see if they look any good. Some of them can start to look like a lawn mower handle, or like ape hangers layed back, ya know? I like a more gentle sweep.

The Goldwing has the best cruise control on any vehicle 2 wheels or 4. Why bother to make such a bike without it is beyond me. For goodness sake, at least have the common sense to offer it as an option. It's just like Triumph to offer a cracker on a string then slowly pull it away.

Will not succeed in the US without cruise and ABS (in my opinion).

Yes the front looks like a hybrid Trophy/Sprint ST lighting and a Goldwing. If they are to compete with the Goldwing etc., I think they had better include all the gadgets. This is going to be a heavy brute.

Ryan I think it will succeed in that people will snatch it up, afterall it IS a rocket, BUT I think you are right that it won't TAKE too many Goldwing owners away, or even Beemers for that matter, without the gadgets. Loyal SOB's...

Hey Benny A 'Wing costs around £18,000 ($31,500) and a Rocket is £12,000 ($21,000). Triumph will have to be able to offer the 'goodies' - even if as extras - to compete. Stereos (still don't see the point!!), sat-nav, cruise, mini bar, jacuzi are all a must.

According to Honda.com, they start at 18,999. Not sure if it's one of those bikes that usually goes for more out the door or not.

Oh Yes! A Couch Rocket without a hot tub behind the pillion? What are the designers thinking? I still want a Rocket III tourer, so I can smoke the HondaBago bikes. There are only three kinds of @$$H0l35 in this world - HD - BMW & Win9 riders. I love the BMW riders - they do exude a little class. Ride Safe, Dennis

I'm curious, how reliable is MCN? That picture got my attention. I like the way the radiator is "hidden".
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

They say their info is from, the famous "inside source". Read into that what you want.
I sometimes wonder if ther manufacturers provide "inside sources" to stir things up a little.
MCN have 'spy shots' or artist impressions of bikes that very often appear on the street so I'd say, quite reliable.
However, as with any 'insider' leaked piece of information, until it's gleaming and a' sparklin' away in the dealership - nothing is certain.
