My speedy broke down on way to work this morning, and to my eternal shame and embarrassment.... a Harley driver stopped to ask if I needed help....  I recovered some dignity when he said "I know where you work, I saw your bike in the bike park yesterday and took some pictures of it"

no the shame continued and i got recovered in a van back to the house, I gave myself the day off.

too funny.
Yesterday at a riding course the instructor, riding a roadking, asked everyone but me to join the local riding club. Joking of course. There were 2 Goldwings and another Harley there.
Funny about the Harley/Triumph rivalry.

I was wearing a pair of thick winter gloves and went to switch the tank over to reserve and errrrrrr didn't.
I put it onto the closed position and susequently stopped.
After half an hour of flapping at the side of the road and wondering what had happened it only dawned on me to look at the petcock 
What a grade A muppet i felt

We all do that when we're FNGs. In '02 I left my buddy's place (down the street where I was storing my bike since I didn't have a garage yet) with a group of Harleys and at the end of the block my bike died. Told them to go on and that I would catch up. Pushed my bike a half-block back to his house and then it occurred to me to check the petcock. DOH!

A fuse was blown no9, it looked fine at the side of the road but it failed with a meter back in my garage, I had stripped half the bike down by then. The headlight went out in the dark at 6am I thought the bulb had blown. I stopped and had a wiggle at everything like you do then the bike wouldn't start. It had me beat so i called the recovery firm.
Clay, it was great to see how many diffrent folks stopped to check I was all right, first it was an old guy on a scooter, then must have been 6 cars all told and of course the Harley guy, three sports bikes drove past one looked for a thumbs up but the other two just shot past. I suspect the cagers who stopped were all bikers too.
