Hey Gang - Pop and I came up with an idea to allow for the removal of the stock peg finishers but retain the ability to have a passenger if needed. It's a 1/2" thick piece of stainless that will be mounted in front of the Solo Finisher that extends low enough to accept the stock rear peg. The benefits would be that you can convert your bike from solo to pillion abled in 5 minutes. It'd also give the passenger a MUCH more comfortable ride allowing them to stretch out a bit. This is the first prototype so keep in mind that the peg bar would be polished to a mirror finish, or chrome plated. Please let me know your thoughts on this, pro or con.... BTW - see Pop's new Hammerhead peg bolts? :-)

Also, while were all here.... What do you think of this new tribal Solo Finisher design?

When you say 1/2" thick, is that the actual thickness or the width. I'm guessing width. Looks like a viable option for those who have the need. As to the tribal finishers, it's another option, just not my cup of tea. I see pain when working on my chain....

I like it, it blends well. How about turning the pegs so they lay parallel with the pipes/swingarm? You don't lose any functionality and I think they would look better folded back instead of up (I may be prejudiced, that's the way I have mine now!).
1/2" SS? Man, you ain't messing around!!
I am guessing when you say solo to passenger you mean the seat? The pegs would stay?
btw, I have the pegs in the lower hole (pipe hanger one) and Janet likes it much better as she can stretch her legs more.
I friggin LOVE those bolts!! I NEED two!! Talk to me!!
Not sure about the tribal finisher. I kinda like it but I don't know if I like it with the peg lowering piece. Do you have any pics with just the finisher?

No. The thickness of the material will be either 3/8" or 1/2". If a big person puts their full weight on one side, we want to make ****** sure it's safe.

The way we envisioned it, if you want to ride solo, you can remove the peg bar leaving the Solo Finisher. It's up to you whether or not to remove the seat.

Yeah, those things are cool. They add a lot of character. And talk about secure; You need a special tool (that Pop made) to remove them :-)

So if they are 1/2" thick, you need longer bolts to install them, correct?

Oh yeah. Chrome bolts would be included in the kit.

Good idea... if I was doing the solo thing I'd grab it. If you make the pegs lie flat they won't be too obvious, which'd mean you could just pull off the pillion for the solo look. Loved the hammerhead bolts - will they fit on the standard rear peg hangers? Probably not a lot of point with the recesses in the OEM hangers I guess. Know what I'd REALLY like to see you do tho? Find a reasonably priced source for those replica HD softtail toolboxes and fabricate brackets to mount them and rear pegs, and sell the lot as a kit. I know they come in black as well - perhaps the speedmaster crew'd be interested in them. Keep up the good work Brent... you'll keep all of us poor at this rate Matt

Looks like a nice, simple way of relocating the pegs. Couldn't you even put the peg plate BEHIND the solo finisher? Hike it more? Also, word of caition on laying the pegs flat, they will like to fold back a lot easier if your passenger has squirmy feet.

I like the new solo finisher, it would go well with the look of my bike.

I like the idea Brent. Is is possible to put the bracket behind the finisher? I'm thinking that set up would bring out the look of the finisher better and hide the bracket as well.
I also love the tribal finisher. Darn know I might have to sell my flames.

Brent, the tribal looks great and is different. And the Mrs. would like the new position of the pegs. I've already removed the stock finishers and mounted the pegs to the pipe mounting brackets, but this tribal finisher would make that right!!!

Smashing idea mate!Lynn wants me to move her pegs forward. Would you offer an integrated unit, i.e. a non-convertible model? Sort of like leaving material on your 'Holes Solo Finishers' so the peg could be mounted to it in the same relative position as your prototype? Those that generally ride solo, never know when they may get lucky! Can you hear me across the pond in Northampshire? Thus a second reason for a non-convertible model.

Oddly, i have grown to like the look of the stock hangers ! i'm probably the only one, and i still hate them on the america because on the speedy they're blacked out and don't stick out like a sore thumb to my eye. But i would like them relocated to where you have them. So the actual peg hanger itself ight be a possibility but i don't like the cosmetic flame thingy. In fact, i'm not sure i'd even go with just the hanger part for fear i may never get used to the look even tho the pegs would be great there for those times where your legs get tierd up front. Hey, i'm shallow, what can i say.

Sure. That's certainly an option.

That was our first thought but the convertible option would be much cheaper. An entire finisher made of 1/2" stainless would get pretty pricey.
I really appreciate the input. Keep it comin'.

Nice one, Brent. Would it work if the bracket was mounted behind the flame finisher? If it does, I'm in. Now I gotta raid my kids' piggy bank!

For the peg angle, you could mill in a recess and include washerlike inserts with holes to match the peg locating pins. That way, the buyer could angle the pegs however he wants.

Nice ideas Brent. How about some replacement peg brackets? I'm no engineer but it looks like a 'c' shaped (or 'u' shaped if you turn 'em round!!) piece of pressed steel to me Any ideas??? Stock ones look crap on chromed hangers.

If those were available last year, I wouldn't have spent money for chrome peg covers. I like the tribal version.

Here's the link Ade; Street BoogieIt doesn't say anywhere that I can see on the site that they ship international but then again it doesn't say they don't. I've emailed them with the question since I was thinking of ordering from them in a few months time. I'll post the response I get here.
