hey guys I just got my bella coarse 5inch plus cable and put them on, they looks good untill u go to put them on, the clutch cable sleeve is fine but the cable inside is half the thickness of the stock cable and its liek a 1/4 inch to short so you can;t get the round jamb nut on the adjuster at the lever. Not only did it take 5 weeks to get them but them arn't as nice as stock so just beware and maybe get some barnetts when you are ready.. Im afraid this clutch cables gonan snap on me..

Tom,

I'm not exactly sure from your description, but it sounds like you got the wrong cable. I got one 4" over from them and it was the same thickness and fit perfectly. I'd give them a call if I were you...

Here's the reply I got from Barnett awhile ago:

It will take 3-4 business days to get your new cable made. We do offer a "rush" service for an additional $5 that will get your cable made and shipped in 24 hours. For this cable made in stainless braid with clear coat, the cost would be $50 plus shipping. For payment, we call you when we receive your cable and get your Visa/Mastercard info. We will return your original cable with your new cable.

Also, I asked about throttle cables:

The throttle cables can be done as well. For stainless, they would be $46 each. As far as the lengths go, all you need to do is tell us how many inches over the stock length the cables need to be and we will add the length to the new cables. Please note that the rush service fee is $5 per cable so it would be an additional $15 for all three cables.

Since you are going with the stainless braid, I will inform you of the options you have. Besides our standard stainless steel braid with clear coat, we also have stainless braid with a Carbon coat and our new Platinum Series bright silver braid with clear coat. The Carbon coat is the same braided cable, but the transparent coating has a sort of 'smoked' tint to it. You can see these and our standard stainless w/clear coat cables at www.barnettclutches.com

Our new Platinum Series cables are brand new and feature a bright silver plated copper braid with a clear coating. These are the brightest and most "showy" (for lack of a better term) cables. Unfortunately, they are not on our website yet as they are still very new. We are in the process of redesigning our website and putting our new 2005 products on it as well as just improving the entire site in general. It will be a month or two before the new look is up. You can look for our new ads on the Platinum Series cables in upcoming issues of Roadbike, Cruising Rider, and Motorcycle Cruiser. It's is hard to really appreciate the bright silver plating on these cables in photos as it can be hard to photograph accurately.

Anyway, I just wanted you to be aware of the options you have for the best look for your bike.

That's one of the reasons I like the oem black cables! 30 bucks brand new and fits like a glove. (Not OJ's glove). Looks good and matches all the other cables and brake lines.

PS: And the SS braided throttle cables never seem to tighten up properly at the lever side. Whats up with that? Yeah, an o-ring might do the trick, but then why is an o-ring not shipped with them?

I have a set of 8" over.
I found the quality great and the fit was perfect.

call Mike and see if you got the wrong cable.
