Hi there been around a while, havent posted in a while either. I have made some mods in the past, but this winter, I embarked on a mod that some of you here have done as well. Relocating the battery. My pics of that are below. In the mean time, I am getting ready to get some powder coating done and wanted your thoughts on one particular item. My new lucky # 13 emblem. I am thinking Pacific Blue on the background, and Blood red on the foreground (the "13"). My other thought was using new england white for the background. Your thoughts? Also, here are some pics of the bike overall. You can see my custom front turn lamp mount, and my custom luggage rack as well as the battery relocation. A few things to note: I am not violating the chain envelope, but it is close. I kept the tabs on the frame because I am trying (for now) to keep the frame as stock as possible in case I ever sell, the new owner could put the bike back to factory as I still have all the original parts - but chances are that I will never sell. I can use the tabs for helmet locks for now! Also, the ignition switch is on the right, because I like it there as I am right handed.

Nice work. The custom pieces look good. If it were me, I would go with your first thought...blue with the blood red. Love the battery relocation...

Looks good. Love that battery relo box! RE: the blood splat...looks like the background to the #13 should be the blood splat...the 13 should be another color.

Polish the 13, line the edges with white and clearcoat. Blue for the splat, gold around the edges (like the coach lines); tie it all into the bike's existing blue/white/chrome/polished aluminum look.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Some red would make a nice "wink" to the Union Jack, since your bike already has Blue and White. Nice Rack

agree completely. Red will look odd and out of place.

Chrome the thing ! Don't mix BLUE and RED - something about that combo causes the frontal lobes to wiggle and our eyes can't make sense of it . I saw a BLUE sign with RED letters the other day . I stared at it and sure 'nuff , my brain went into this wiggle and the lettering was illegible . BLUE and RED makes PURPLE . You don't want a PURPLE spot on the nice BLUE bike . Thank you .

With the work you have done already I think what ever decision YOU make it will look awesome Nice work over all. I got to do that battery relocation. I have been waiting for someone with an EFI to do it first , as the ecu is behind our batteries.
What it can't reach it spits at.

That looks great, nice job with the battery relocation particularly like the false oil tank thingy. I've got more ideas now.
Great job,
Cheers Chris

Thanks! Actually I got the idea from someone else here on the board. Just did something similar with maybe a different execution. I started with a battery tray that I bought off ebay. I want to keep all of my stock stuff just in case. I will try to post some pictures of the progress leading up to this.

Nice work... beautiful. That bike is looking way more attractive under the seat. I'm not fond of the fake air filters and what you did really works! As for my thoughts on paint... whatever you come up with will be good I'm sure.
Live to love, love to live.
