I got a PIAA from Fasteddysports.com and got it installed today. Its not the cheapest horn on the market and not the most expensive. Ive read mixed results on the Strebel so I figured Id give this one a shot. Ive always had good luck with PIAA and Ed so how can I go wrong!
Thought Id share a couple of intall tips (with pics of course).

The picture of the horn on Eds site doesnt show it but this horn has a small plate in front of the horn opening. I figure its for one of two or for both reasons:
1) To protect it from the likes of water, dust and debris ingestion.
2) As something to bounce the sound off to make it resonate louder (This is a trick I used to use back when I used to install car alarms. The sirens were always louder and if installed inside the car, painful, if you could bounce the sound wave off a solid surface).

Now for pics:
OEM horn

OEM horn bracket/frame bracket.

OEM horn bracker flipped for clearance.

PIAA bracket needs to be bent like this for clearance.

PIAA horn installed head on view.

PIAA horn installed side view.

It sounds great but I dont have any way of recording sound so no sound bites
There are plenty of youtube sound bites of 500/400hz horns.

Since this one is only 500hz it doesnt have that slightly higher lingering pitch to it. Its deep and loud.

I have had mine for a couple of years. I like it, it is much better than the stock one. My install looks a bit better though.
