i recently added 11 inch mini-apes to my bike last fall. i had a "reputeable" bike shop make me some cables, with disasterous results. Instead of sodering on a propper cable end on the throttle cables, they essentially clobbed on a ball of soder and called it good. Needless to say, one cable has snapped and one is about to. I know there are guys with ape's on there bikes. Is there some resource to get extended cables pre-made, or can anyone recomend a reputable builder who could make me up a set?

+1 for Barnett you can get them from them or get the universal ones from them and solder on your own ends. Soldering on ends is easy with a propane torch a small furnace is even better but not needed. Be sure to clean the end very well before soldering and then lube after.

Did you change cables because you wanted to or because it was necessary? I have 10" bars and used the stock cables, just had to re-route the throttle cables under the tank to the right side of the neck. Might work for now until you get the new cables.

I sent mine in to Toby at Motion Pro and told him how much to add. He made me a set that worked great. I think they were about 30$ a cable.

Okay Danny, so you say you "need help with cables" here, huh?! Okay, then HERE'S what you should say in that cable then, kid:
Send the following to BARNETT'S(kind'a like what Dave said above)...
"Dear Sirs[stop]...Need new control cables for my Triumph motorcycle[stop]...had cheap ones made by incompetent shop but they won't stop(no brackets there, BTW) breaking[stop]...signed Danny[stop]"
(hope this helps....[stop])
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Wait a minute...wait a minute! I think a NEW message is coming over the telegraph RIGHT NOW!!! Yep! And it's sayin'...."dit, dit, dit, dah, dah, dit, dah, dit, dah, dah, dah, dah, dit, dah, dit"! (too bad I never learned Mr.Morse's code, though)

use a sewing tape measurer. Call barnetts tell them year and model. Or go to another reputable shop or triumph dealer. I wouldn't go to the triumph dealer they will violate you. I have a HD type custom shop right here in town. I went thru the same thing when I put my 16" apes on and got about 150miles before the clutch cable broke. I took it to the HD guy and he hooked me up.
