I'm going to paint my side cover Goodwood Green to match the bike. However, the paint codes listed by Triumph are European Dupont codes and not available here in the US. I emailed Dupont and they said to go to Triumph but all they'll sell me is the touch-up bottle. Anyone have any advice on how to get that color or how to match it to the US paint codes?

Look in the Tech Vault , there is a plethera of info about paint codes . I think some are PPG and other brands , should not be a problem .

Oh , I forgot , when you're done , get you an " America " decal and the domed crossed flags decal from Fast Ed . Will look cool . Very cool . Most of us have the black covers .

You can go to a good body shop and they can match it.

I figured I could do that. They have all the color charts and should be able to get close.

A modern shop with up to date equipment has a scanner that they can put up to the paint and the machine spits out what they need to match the color.

We searched high & low for a Goodwood green US match / cross index, to no avail. I don't believe anyone on the site here has ever found the US equivalent either. The painter matched mine by eye. He got pretty close - not a perfect match but close enough for what I need anyway. He also thought that a Land Rover's green looked pretty close. I've also seen some older Ford mini vans with a good looking metal flake green - mid to late 90s maybe? Or maybe mid 80s? I don't recall now. I would think one of the many shades of British Racing Green (with a little bit of metal flake) would be right pretty too. As far as getting a quart or pint of the real stuff, I've had good luck with Jack Lilley Triumph at getting goods the US dealers can't or won't get. http://www.jacklilley.com/Another option - a mile away from where I work is a world class body shop. I've seen a number of perfect color matches come out of there - but - they are expensive. I have a factory painted Goodwood Green side cover. If you like, I can get you a price on a color match job by taking mine there. We could do the transport via mail if you like. Not a problem for my BA.com bruddah.

I have!
Standox is a US readily available product. The key CODE is HK which is Goodwood Green Paint code # 768986 T3120300-HK
Go to a Standox Authorized paint ditributor and tell them you want Triumph motorcycles Goodwood green which uses the two letter code HK!
Piece of cake!

I didn't use the body shop I recommended to Ron to paint my bike -- too expensive for me. My wife's cousin painted my tank and saddle bags to match the factory painted fenders and side cover for $300, paint included. It's not a perfect paint job, but good enough for the price. Here is a photo showing all the paint, EXCEPT the side cover. The green used as a match on a mine is a little darker than the factory's green, but unless you're looking for that issue, you might not notice the difference. ``````````````````````````````````````` Way to go on the paint match Clay http://pc.dupont.com/dpc/en/US/html/visitor/b/stx/home.htmlLooks like Dupont owns Standox?

Man, as much as I love Eddy and all, if I painted that cover there is NO way I would just be throwing a sticker on there,
(...oh yeah, been there done that.)
(Sorry Ed)

No don't just throw a sticker on. Lay the sticker under a couple coats of clear. Wet sanded and buffed, it'll look like it was painted on there.I hear you about not wanting to cover up a nice paint job. But I don't feel like I'm finished until some graphics are burried under clear coat.
