My bride took her first trip on the road ever on bike. We used to ride all the time on dirt 20 years ago. I rode street bikes before we were married 24 years ago and stopped riding altogether when she got pregnant. Well my son is 21 years old now, and graduates college this year. When I bought the speedy, she sat on it and said I can ride this! I said get your own, and she did. She now has her permit and took her first road trip. 1.5 miles around the block. She takes the MSF course in April, and then we're both taking the Ride Like A Pro course in June. Clay

That's awesome. I like a gal that can ride a bike. HOWEVER, there's good and bad there in my opinion, bro. Now she might want to trail along with you EVERYWHERE you go. Sometimes, I just love getting away for awhile and hanging with the fellas.

Awesome!! My wife is in the same boat, except she took the MSC about 5 years ago. She took the America for loop in the park... very slowly. I was so happy for her, I bought her a Suzuki Savage 650 to get comfortable with. She's dropped that bike twice. Glad it wasn't the BA! Now that the weather has warmed up, she's ready to try again.
Where is the Ride like a Pro course? I'd like to learn some more too.

You're a lucky bean. My wife won't even ride on the back with me. Motorcycling is something she can't even comprehend.

I love to ride with Wendy, (even though she tends to be slow) I rarely ride without her and wouldn't have it any other way. I do get nervous that she might make a mistake but that is getting less now.

Clay - Thats awsome!!! I have been riding off and on since about 1984 .....gawd that makes me old. I have had the BA since Jan 2002. Encourage her to explore once she has taken the MSF course. I hope you 2 have lots of riding years, and hopefully she will also find some other like minded gals to ride with. I love riding w/ my guy, but the girls have a special place too. And for those guys out there afraid that when their girl starts riding it will somehow interfere with their fun, I pitty you. My guy ride as much together as we can (living in 2 states has its limitations), but I also have a group of girls that I ride with too. Its all about trust. And after reading this thread, most of you have figured out the pleasure of riding with your gal on her own bike. Ya Hoo!!!

My wife took the class in September, got her license and saturday we are picking up her new ride... why did it take so long to get her bike? unfortunately she wanted a 250 Ninja... ugh... all sold out, couldn't even find a decent used one. I tried to convince her to get a Trumpet... heck any Trumpet... I tried guys... I tried... I must admit tho... she looks dang hot on that bike... yet again she would look dang hot a Street Triple too!

Nothing in SC though. You could come up here on the 28th of March, because I changed my class. I couldn't wait and they're filled up through The end of June. I will be at the Vintage AMA rally in Ohio then.
Come on up, we'll do the class together!

I have enjoyed the "motorman's" videos, but I checked out the link to the NC classes. ...
"As a Rider do you:
Fear dropping your bike? Are you a “Foot Dragger “Walk The Dog†at red lights? Know how to pick up your bike? Feel unsteady when riding slow? Wear out your boots before your tires? Take up 3 lanes of traffic to make a U-Turn? Avoid making slow tight turns in parking lots?"
This doesn't fit me as a rider, so I think I'll stick with taking MSF courses in Greenville. Thanks!

Doesn't fit me either. However, I can't do on my BS, what some of the thing those little ladies do on there 700lb bikes in the videos. So what's it gonna hurt?
Plus it gives me an excuse to learn something new. I am a perpetual student!
