I see that Tsukayu has a "Basic Plain Fairing" that would fit a bike with a handlebar mounted speedometer, using Memphis Shades mounts. Would this fairing mount on a 2006 Speedmaster, and what Memphis Shades mounts would be the right ones to use? see the link: http://www.tsukayu.com/QuickDetachableFairing.html
'06 Speedmaster, Long TORS, rest is stock (for now)

Just looking at it, it looks like the plain version might fit. The one with the radio mount looks like it would hit the speedo. That is just an impression since it is nearly impossible to tell for sure without trying it.

Who's gonna spend $800 to find out if it will fit?

I feel the same way about that stuff. I like my stock seat and if I didn't I would do a gel insert for a small fraction of the cost. Now back to the over priced fairing.

From Fast Eddy: "Coming soon! A Tsukayu a Harley Style Fairing for multiple applications. Please e-mail me if interested, this is under development while I find specific application information and set up the variations for site purchase for FeS. Update: Mounting application for the America/Speedy is do-able. They are looking into it as the mounting clamps will work." Fast Eddy Sports - Tsukayu Fairing

If you want an Electra Glide why not just buy one? I know its just my personal opinion but why do people keep trying to turn these bikes into baggers? Just my 2cents,not a personal attack.

I agree, nothing wrong with mounting detachable bags for long trips and camping like Wendy and I do, but I agree that they really arean't baggers.I guess it's more a personal preference thing but I thing trying to make these bikes baggers takes away from what they really are. I feel the same about windshields. They do pull the weight if you choose to do so though I guess. I have had my bike so loaded up I'm surprised we didn't get pulled over and it still ran effortlessly over the distance even when crossing several states in a day.

What's wrong with baggers? Why y'all so high and mighty? Are they any less of a motorcycle? Who are you to judge?

I agree, these bikes look better naked IMHO but it's your bike and you do what you like with it.

Not judging, stating the opinion I am entitled to as is Billpvegas. Do what you want with your bike I don't have to like it.

Nothing wrong with wanting a bagger that handles. To me that is the underlying reason for owning a Triumph (and my own history probably).

I am not passing judgment, just expressing my opinion; our differences are what make the world go round. It’s your bike, paint it yellow polka dots if thats what you like. There is nothing wrong with baggers if thats what floats your boat. I just don’t get weighing down a sporty ride with touring accessories’. If you want a tourer there a plenty of better options IMHO.

Because they like the bikes and their engines but want better wind protection and storage for long trips.
Not actually that hard to understand.

Well, now that you ask
They are cruisers, not touring bikes. You can't tour on them. They are maybe good for 40-50 miles is all then you have to take them home for a rest.

You don't have to take em home. I just stop along the way and blow on the jugs until it cools off. On the serious side when I got my bike dynoed Vic commented on how cool the head on our bikes stay.

I've gotten that, too. Any idea what the optimum oil temperature is? Mine is usually about 190, but sometimes gets up to about 240 or so. Maybe 250 if I'm doing 80+ for an hour.

My bike rarely breaks 200º unless I'm in stop and go traffic or a very hot day.

Thats interesting, I have an infrared thermometer to check oil temp, and at the line fittings at the head the temp reads 190, and at the lower fittings, it reads 140. But my oil temp gauge from newspeedmaster reads higher... No big deal, it's nowhere near critical temp on either.

I am going by the New Speedmaster gauge so take that for what it is. I never measured it any other way. Vic puts that attachment from his dyno on the head to measure the temp. I didn't ask him what the temp was when he made the comment.

Well actually, they are what you decide you like most about riding them. For me, I love riding my bike to work - commuter I love riding into town with my missus on the back going for a coffee somewhere on a warm lazy afternoon = cruiser. With the screen, shocks and seat from ****** plus a baggage system I can fit my Cpap machine in and still have plenty of room, I CAN ride miles and miles with the backrest nicely snug into my lumbar region and my legs stretched out on my touring pegs. Well what do you do if you want a bagger that isn't Japanese, or American.
I've always had a soft spot for Triumphs, and the look of pretty much all motorcycle styles from crotch rockets to baggers and tourers.
I have a BS now and it unfortunately needs bags because of the the type of riding I do. I'm not after the bagger look for my bike, but until they make them invisible....

Riding light and fast, I am certainly not a fan of baggers. However with that being said, there are different levels of bagger cool and Z's bike looks good with those contoured bags. If I were ever to go that route, those are the bags I would get. The Tsukayu fairing would go well with that look.
I like everything about Harleys except the weight, so the batwing fairing design does not put me off any more than any fairing or windshield does.

Yes, I feel there is a difference between having saddlebags and making your bike a bagger. To me a bagger is fairing, bags, and trunk at the very least. Don't really think our bikes are suited to that but each to their own. I know our bikes will do it but think there are many better choices if that is what you want. I know I load my bike down when I go camping.

I like the hard bags too. It’s more in keeping with the style of the bike IMHO.
I guess part of what makes these bikes so great is that they are a solid platform for whatever you’re in to. If you think its cool go for it, more power to you.
Its a vanilla world if we all like and think the same thing. Its great that we all have diferent visions of what our Triumphs are.

Baggers have dashboards in their fairings with a stereo and speakers, and a cupholder. Often times they not only have the hard bags, but chrome "protective" rails around them too. And don't forget the tour pack with speakers for the passenger (and armrests).

Memphis Shades has a new batwing that I've not seen advertised before. Fits for Honda, Zuki and Yammi listed. I've got an email to see if something for the BA is in the works, but surely some of the folks around here know if one of the listed Hon-Zuk-Yammi models will match up.

I saw what I took to be a tsukayu fairing on a metric cruiser today. No logos on either the fairing or the bike(and both rider and passenger were wearing face masks - not sure what's up with that!). Oh, wait, maybe it's the experimental prototype thunderbird touring edition! I took a few photos because I've been playing with a fairing but but I can't say I much cared for the look. It sat too high on the bike and the color contrast was jarring. You can see how it mounts quite simply ala memphis shades to the sides of the forks. It would be easy to bolt one on to an america or SM. I also saw something called the Pro-Tour X in a mag which has a clamshell storage trunk in the back and a slimmed down fairing. Now the tail of this bike redefines fugly but the slimmed down fairing might be a thought. At least the rider doesn't feel obligated to hide his face. ofDSCF1816.JPG)

I saw these comments and I thought they were interesting. I have been thinking long and hard about putting a set of hard bags painted to match my bike and a windshield too. That doesn't mean thatI want an Electra Glide though. I love my Triumph. It's just that I find myself going on longer trips and it would make the bike more practical for me. So does that mean I should just look for another bike? One that suits my needs a little better rather than accesorize the Triumph, taking away from the true spirit of the bike? I don't know. Food for thought...

Not trying to HD wanna be, I just likes me some gee gaws and carry a lot of tools from home & stuff to commute. Stuff = lunch box, one gallon of lemonade, a thermos of coffee, a coffee travel mug, & a folding portfolio for invoicing and such. Then there's the other "stuff." Rain gear, tools, tire kit, flashlight, spare wire and connectors, tape, matches, paper & pen, wet wipes, hat, life size map of the US, yadd yadda yo. Does that mean I'm doing it wrong? Probably. ... but it fits my daily needs And yes - I do like a large windshield, for I am, after all, a crunchy boned geezer. Oh yeah - don't forget the mid ship pegs. I must admit - with the turned down smoke pipes, I do like the sound of exhaust snappin' off the pavement. Pipes courtesy of Walt's Tractor Supply. Thank you, Walt.

I tend to agree Mate, but we call them Granny Glides. Screens and bags just do not look good and spoil the image. Less is more, kinda like lingerie. Thats just what I reckon anyway, each to their own but.
