I'd like to send out a Hi to all fellow Canadian Triumph riders, and see if I am really the only one in Winnipeg that rides a Bonneville America/Speedmaster. From chats with pretty much EVERY Harley guy on the road, at the Tim Horton's, driving in their vehicle who stop me and ask me about this bike, they say that mine is the only newer Triumph they've seen on the road (other than one of the sportbike models that I've seen riding around). It's a great feeling having these guys ride right up to me at a light and ask all about the bike all the while studiously ignoring the Metric Harley copies... One issue I'm facing now is the problem of ordering absolutely everything I need online. There's no Triumph dealer between Toronto and Calgary (until I win the lottery and open my own) so it makes it very difficult to obtain such simple items as oil filters, drain plug gaskets, cables, shims, etc. To that end I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that would be willing to pick up a few items for me once in awhile on their regularly scheduled trip to their own Triumph dealer and ship the stuff to me (easy for me to pay on Paypal etc.). If not, I guess I'm stuck with e-pay and the cross border shipping... and if that's what I have to go through to own this FANTASTIC bike... so be it! Regards, Lorne.

You can get oil filters and gaskets at your local autoparts store, valve shims from Honda/Kaw dealers IIRC. Hope that helps a little.

That DOES help. I didn't think any of the autoparts stores would carry the filters as they would be in such low demand, unless the filters etc. are used on alot of bikes etc. Does someone have a listing of the part numbers and brand names from filters that will fit?

Lorne,
There are quite a few riders spread out over the prairies. I was living in Regina and came across a couple riders there. I know Saskatoon just got/or will be getting a Triumph dealer. But I am not sure the name. If you make a couple phone calls to some bike dealers there they would likely point you in the right direction.
Even having a dealership where I live I still find myself ordering 90% of what I need off the net.
If you are ever in a jam, send me a PM and I will see what I can do from Edmonton.
Cheers! Ceuls

Check the Tech Vault for part numbers and other misc info. Lots of good stuff there.

Hi Lorne...there is a GREAT Triumph Dealer in London, Ont...... Inglis Cycle. www.ingliscycle.com I know they ship parts all over Canada as well as the US. Ask for Gord Inglis....he's the parts guy and his passion is Triumph Motorcycles. I bought my Speedmaster there a year ago and the support I've received is unbelievable. Every February they have an open house and you can buy/order anything and receive 25% off. A sale in the fall gets you 15% off. I usually drop into the shop once a week, so if I can be of any help to you, just ask. Don

Custom Cycle, here in Saskatoon, will be a Triumph dealership starting this spring. They already handle Suzuki, Kawasaki, and BMW

Lorne,
Welcome to the site. It is a little more difficult to get things for our bikes.
If you check the tech vault here on this forum you'll find lots of parts which are compatible with our bikes from other manufacturer's. This makes it easy to get lots of things which we need.
Myself, I don't have a dealer in my area either. My only options are a two hour drive or to cross the border into the U.S.
Apparently Canadian Tire carries oil filters which can be used on our bikes but I haven't seen them on the shelves and haven't asked at the parts counter if they carry anything. I do get my oil from there and get my filters from a car part place in the U.S.
For brake pads, rotors, chain, shims or many other things I go to a Yamaha or Honda dealer close by.
If you are interested send me a PM through the forum with your email address and I'll send you a copy of a sheet I carry in my wallet with part numbers which fit our bikes.
I have in the past bought from FastEddySports.com and NewSpeedmaster.com. Yes, there are duties but I have found they aren't too bad and both are quick with delivery.

Hey Lorne, Inglis Cycle in London are excellent.I bought my 05 America there and many of my add on's. They have service seminars and sponsor the local RAT Pack. This is a shop that really is about customer service. Prices are good and they are always willing help with advice.
