hello all. I wanted to see if anyone had any advice on what to take off to make the bike lighter. Im a fan of bare bones riding (for the bike at least - always a lid on my head) and I wanted to see what i could do for the Speedmaster.

I thought about that, too.
I decided that with the money spent and all,
it would be easier to take the weight off me than the bike.

Some things that comes to mind is:

Rear peg hangers
Gutter the pipes or better shorter pipes
low profile solo seat (only)
Airbox, complete removal (K&Ns only)

smaller lighter blinkers, fenders if you can get away with it or cut them smaller, smaller head light, mag wheels with as little metal as possible (spoke type mags not solid disc) , pipes with no heat shields ,dash, smaller tank, , chain guard, sprocket cover (none or a plastic small one). Could even go as far as to drill things you keep like engine mount and fenders and such.

+1! Probably the biggest (pun included at no charge) reason that Americans have to go for larger bikes to obtain desired performance... while they are on them.
