I have an 07 TBS and don't like any of the wheel cleaners I've tried, plus a lot of them say don't use on motorcycle wheels.
So, what do you guys use??

Meguiers or however it's spelled foaming wheel cleaner. No product is perfect, this stuff is real good.

I use soapy water and a small brush to knock off the dirt. Then I wipe 'em down with mineral spirits (paint thinner). That's the only thing that cuts through the grease on the rear wheel.

Suzuki Performance Detailer. I use it on just about everything but the seat.

In my experience, the spray on cleaners only do a so-so job and are ok for a quick cleaning. But if you really want to remove all the brake dust, road grime, and insect smegma from your wheels, you have to get up close and personal. I use Meguier's products also, and when I want to get the wheels really clean, I use their carwash soap with a tubesock over my hand to reach all the nooks and crannies. But that's me... If you're happy with the results of some foamy miracle cleaner, go for it.

I thought I saw a post about Simple Green damaging the finish. I just use dish soap on the whole bike with a power washer so I don't know fist hand but thought I saw a post to that effect.

Dish soap will get your'e bike very clean, but it will suck the lipids out of you paint, rubber and vynl making them brittle over time.

I don't know about alloy wheel finish, I just use them on my spoked wheels. Cuts right through the grime and doesn't seem to damage the finish. I probably wouldn't try it on any other part of the bike (well I did use it to cut the grime on the swingarm once).

I didn't know that. Maybe I'll have to switch to something else. Rather err on the side of caution.

John, I used Simple Green initially, which does work great. Only caution is I had read a post on this forum on extensive testing Simple Green caused pitting on stainless steel. Our spokes are stainless so I decided to quit using. I'm still looking for the best safe product for cleaning the laced wheels as well as other dirt and grime on the engine.

I use something called Metal Protector (very similar to WD-40). Nice thing about this stuff is that it leaves a dry lubricate behind, and it does not hurt paint, fabric, rubber and plastic. Like WD-40 it cleans the bike very nicely. I even use it on the exhaust, but only if I don't plan on riding until the next day.
