I just got my insurance renewal through from Carole Nash. It pays to check these things through, most of the info was wrong - phone number (I thought it was quiet!! ), address (that was MY fault ... I hadn't told them I'd moved! ), age and previous conviction for speeding. Knowing how picky on details these people can be should I need to make a claim, I'm glad I checked! Just by changing a couple of things the premium dropped by 10%. Fully comp for the America and the Rocket comes out at £284.40. Yeah, I know, some of you old farts are going to say your insurance is SOOOO cheap that THEY pay YOU but I thought that wasn't too bad considering a £900 claim when some kid ran into the Buick which still flags up (until next Jan anyway). He wanted me to sign up straight away and I said I'd call back. He said what would it take to sign up now, I said lower the premium to £100 He didn't. I'm going to shop around ... gone are the days when you assume you're getting a good deal for being loyal to one company year after year.

Try Bennetts mate. I had hassle insuring my Tractor cause I didn't have an alarm on it. I told them anyone that could pick it up was welcome to it, as I wasn't going to argue with them!!!! Think mine was about £260ish, mind you that was only for the one bike!!!!!!

I know Bennetts and Carole Nash can be played off against one another. If I tell Bennetts Carole Nash quoted £1.00 they'd try and beat it just to get the deal!
Hey, that was the other thing, their renewal said "alarm / immobiliser : N/A" I deliberately had one fitted because I knew the insurance look for that sort of thing. Even if the alarm is a PITA.

Yeah, I used Bennetts. The quote was great, until I moved. Then they charged me £25 just for the change of address! Then I sold the bike and cancelled my policy, after only 5 months, and they sent me a letter charging me 8 quid!! Apparently there is a £30 charge for cancelling a policy with them. Next time I will definitely read the small print.

I just ran my details through and it's come out about 30 quid cheaper. Does that mean I'm an old fart now? Carole Nash are due to call back tomorrow so we'll see what they come up with BTW, thanks for the link Bill.

Worth trying http://www.motorcycledirect.co.uk/ as well. came in cheapest for my tractor last year at £230. Cheaper than ebike, who seem to the benchmark nowadays.

What a surprise. Carole Nash called back today as agreed. I told him about the e-bike quote and as if by magic, he managed to knock another 30 quid off the quote. £250 ish fully comp for both bikes isn't too bad I don't think.

Think I used gocompare.com last time to do a search and managed to get fully comp insurance through 'aqoute' - £91, protected no claims, covered legal expenses, £200 excess. Didn't go for breakdown recovery as think I'm covered anyway with the AA. Very basic probably but it should do me for the little amount of riding I'm managing to squeeze in these days... Kids, who'd 'av 'em?!

Surprised me too! Lot cheaper than last year, must have eventually hit the 'sensible' bracket, bit worrying to be honest I'm riding so little at the mo I'm thinking as long as I can sort the disc out I don't mind. It's an older bike, alarmed, not high risk I suppose... Reckon you've probably come unstuck with the Tractor... It's the price for the fun factor mate...

To be honest, my insurance didn't alter much from when I had the ST. I was expecting to pay £500+ for the R3 alone!
