I have a chance to buy a 07 Honda Interceptor Anniv W/ 800 miles on it for $3000.00 plus my 06 America. Would this be a good move? Would I enjoy this Honda more? Any thoughts. I don't want to do it & regret it.

That VTEC valve gear has higher maintenance costs than a Trophy Wife.

Let's see here. You have a "chance" to trade your America AND 3 Grand for a '07 Honda interceptor you say, right Steve?!
Looky here. IF you can afford to keep TWO bikes, the Triumph AND a really nice GEAR-DRIVEN non-VTEC 2000 Interceptor(BTW, the gear-driven VFRs are by far the most desirable VFRs)....then I'd say TAKE that 3 Grand, MAYBE add another Grand or so...and look at THIS beauty of a Honda VFR HERE on eBay, and then....BID AWAY, kid....

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I had an '86 VFR700. The first of the gear-drive Interceptors. Two problems. One, my hands went to sleep in about 15min at under-50mph. Two, it makes 95mph feel like 50. Easy to get a ticket when you can't even tell you're going fast. I guess that's my biggest problem with sportbikes in general. At any semi-sane speed on the street, the bike is not working hard, kind of ho-hum. If you're going fast enough to give the bike a work-out on the street, you're a gambler of epic proportions. So unless you're doing a track-day, it's kind of a bike without a purpose.

It's billed as a sport-tourer, sort of a mini ST-1200. Those bags are pretty large. Does the one you are looking at have ABS? Here's one in Craiglist: http://medford.craigslist.org/mcy/1032997224.htmlKind of hard to answer from a crusier perspective, as noted earlier. Personal decision time!

Would you sell your America straight out for 3500? That's essentially what you would be doing.
Do you want an Interceptor? Then buy it. I wouldn't.
