OK why was that answer directed at me? I said I don't mind the cruiser title. My only objection was at bike shows our bikes get lumped in with dissimilar bikes.

I like the term "roadster" too, in the classic sense. maybe "Classic Roadster." Now my America is dressed with bags, windscreen, crash bar, and spotlights. Its definitley a cruiser, but handles like a "Classic Roadster." I'm okay with cruiser, but you can use "Classic Roadster." After all, the Triumph logo is "Go your own way." We buy these great bikes, each of us do our own special tricks to them to make them in our own image of what we think it should be. That way every one or our bikes are unique living up to a long tradition of Triumph riders going our own way.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

Since I installed Raask foot controls my feet are no longer in the cruiser possition but rather in the standard possition.
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

Erm, Ron did. He's not the only one to do it, either!!! :P Perhaps it's state-specific.

Yep, because Triumphs use metric fasteners.
Hmmm. That would 'splain why all my bolts are rounded off!!!

Cheers for that, Neil.
A few hijacks (hey, it's my thread!): Is anyone else missing their emotes? It would appear no-one's used any for a while.
I had a first yesterday-filtering through heavy traffic in Manchester (2nd or 3rd biggest city in England, depending on who you ask) and someone actively moved over to block me off. I could have got round him on the nearside but the bloke I was next to kept so close to the bloke blocking me off that I couldn't squeeze through. This second bloke was also consciously blocking me off because he wouldn't look at me, even after I'd knocked on his window (with a view to asking if he'd let me through) The question is: Why? I guess I'll never know the answer.

"Cruiser" may be what it is, but that has nothing to do with how I ride it, or what I do on it. No one knows like we know, that no other "Cruiser" can do what ours do. They just can't. If that makes ours better cruisers, so be it, I don't care. I don't "cruise" anywhere. I haul butt.

I just had a questionnaire about my Cruiser from Triumph. I put I love it (of course) and wasn't looking to change it. Which one though....
Gina
03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

If there's such a thing as a "sport tourer", what's wrong with "sport cruiser". To me a classic roadster is an MG. In 05 when I bought my bike, I actually went to look at the Bonneville Classics. When I saw the America I was sold. I really liked the fact the classic Triumph was integrated into a cruiser. I'm glad I got mine before a lot of the classic styling got designed out. Love my carbs, chain, spokes, and indented tank.

Why?... Because some foks are inherent nobheads Suppose they think 'I'm not goin anywhere, so neither will he' Pretty sad really...

He'd probably have taken more notice if you'd kicked his wing mirror off mind, uhmm... the things you'd like to do...

It didn't bother me thought you misunderstood what I said or something since there were several posts between yours and my last one so it looked like you replied to me. Must have just been a timing thing. See what I get for being so sahnsahtahv!

All the 790s and 865s are in the Bonneville family. Most people don't have a clue what we're talking about. I just tell them it's a Triumph Bonneville, they've heard of that one. Once in a while I get a "Which one?" as a reply. After I get over the shock, I'll tell 'em Speedmaster. And it is a cruiser. A cruiser that works.

I think that with all the bibs'n'bobs, bling bits etc that we throw at our bikes they are now classified as "custom".Mine may have started out as a cruiser (stock) but it most definately is now a customised special. How many peeps here still ride a bone stock Speedy/BA.Very few I bet.
