For my birthday I had my slip-ons powdercoated and I wrapped my header pipes.

I like the shorty pipes for looks. If I didn't use my BA for traveling, I would probably go with a more radical exhaust. But my experience has been that the coppers between states leave you alone with a more stock exhaust. Sometimes I wish I had two BA's, one to rod and one to travel on. Good looking bike.

Looks nice, you should paint your cam cover black, or get one from a speedmaster.

This has probably been discussed around here somewhere before but I can't remember. Do the mufflers run cool enough for the powder-coating to survive? I've got a couple D&Ds I want to make black. It's $115 with Jet-Hot but I could probably do it locally for half that and save the shipping.

FJ i would think ceramic coating would be a better long term fix a couple of blokes i ride with have had their headers done for a few years now and still look as good as the day they were done

Thanks, Bill, for fixing the pic and thanks to everyone for the positive comments. My original intention was to get the entire system ceramic coated, but that got lost somewhere in translation. It was one of those deals where I told the old lady what I wanted done and she enlisted the help of a buddy of mine, hence, i guess, the powder coat. The guy who did it said if there was a problem with heat he'd redo it with some high temp stuff and I'm happy with the way it turned out, especially the header wrap. Can't wait for summer!

Header pipes or mufflers?

mufflers. They were old 19" dunstalls that the previous owner had powdercoated. They looked freshly done when I bought the bike and I ended up replacing them after a full season of riding. They were more of a grey at that point with some minor rust showing thru here and there.

So far they've held up really well. The wrap on the headers could probably use another coat, it's a bit faded. I'm still really happy with it!

I like the way your pipes turned out Southern Fried. Of course, I'm kinda partial 'cuz I'm running the same pipes.

Your exhaust system looks great there Oldroadie. Are they ceramic coated inside & out or powdercoated? How many miles have you put on them since having them coated?

To continue the hijack:
The bike came to me this way from the PO, the headers for sure have ceramic and are still flawless after the 11,000 miles I've put on (yeah, I know, work really killed last year's riding time). The SS pipes, I'm not so sure they were ceramic, maybe just hi temp paint so I recoated them last spring with VHT Ceramic paint and so far, so good. All just coated on the outside.
