I didn't realize people were spending so much money on bike chains. I've had this one since about '87. Cutters like the one in the video won't even fit over it.

One of the worse things you can do is lay it on the floor, double or triple wrap it over the seat or round a shock so its not on anything solid... make s cutting harder.. of course, a Pro thief will get it anyway.

what size is that chain? and the make?
as far as i can see only 16mm or abiove diameter chains give even the slightest protection against bolt cutters.
wrap them tight seems the best option

just a padlock around the bike's drive chain has always worked for me. cant roll the bike anywhere but their aint much you can do to stop somebody from just picking it up and loading into the back of a truck. but a lock around the drive chain will prevent anyone from being able to roll it away.

It's called a Cobralinks chain, but I have no idea whether these are still being made. They used to list 'em in a 3/4" size and 1" size. Mine measures 0.78" (19.8mm) between the links and 1" (25.4mm) on the links themselves, so I'm not sure which size it is.

I have an armored padlock I put through a hole in my rotor and lock the steering. Guys can still carry it off if they wanted but not gonna get that lock off the rotor without quite a bit of damage to the rotor if they get it off at all.

I used a supposedly armored and shielded padlock on a four-wheel car trailer that I parked at an apartment complex overnight in Houston. The trailer was gone the next morning, and the busted padlock was lying on the ground.

I actually have a pair of Almax Chains (one 1.5m and one 2 m).
They're currently anchoring Tanya's Scrambler to the Ground (in case it floats off) and is occasionally anchored to my bike when we're out and about.
Bike's not been stolen (yet) and hopefully won't be (touch wood)
****** heavy though (not looking forward to taking them on a trip with me)

Just anchored mine down in the garage with the Honda with a Oxford something or another they act as a deterrent more than anything.. also used a steel line to round both bikes and then padlocked.Rhe garage is alarmed and asked one of the neighbours to park his van infront of the door..

Any lock or chain can be broken some more easily than others. It would be much easier to break a padlock on a trailer than tucked in the rear wheel area on the rotor. This is the type I have.

I use no chain at all to secure my bike. I had the Spyball alarm installed two years ago and still nobody has messed with my bike nor has tried to steal it. Guess Helsinki is such a peaceful place with such honest people...

I don't use a chain either..... and Bristol's not a peaceful or an honest place!!! 
But I do have the Datatool Alarm.
