I would like to find a way to lift the rear for maintenance. I would rather not buy a jack. I thought I had seen a homemade rig for this but darn if I can find it again.

Anyone have one? If not then Sears will get my money.

Thanks,

Rick 2005 BA

Jack is definitely one of the best ways, otherwise you can try a Pit stand, kind of like what Sport Bikes use. My friend had a "pit bull" for his '01 Triumph TT600, and granted it took us both to get my Speedmaster off, and on, the thing, it worked, and once on the pit bull, the bike was fairly stable.

Hi Rick,

It's in the Links section (some links are broken) on the main page.

There's about a ton of other useful info on the Night rider site also!

Rollastands are rather cool.

Does Triumph even offer a centerstand for the BA/SM? It is a shame that the bikes don't come with one already equipped.

Cheers,
Brad

Brad,

No, they don't. Which I always found kind of weird. There are, of course, mounting holes underneath and towards the back of the frame for one, but as far as I know, Triumph has never made one for the BA/SM.

I've used those holes to bolt on a set of footpegs brackets that I designed and built, that jut forward about six inches from those holes and rest atop the frame, so I can sometimes get my feet underneath me while I ride, when my spine can't take any more punishment from this feet-forward riding position during a long ride.

Cheers,
Dwight

How about posting a pix of those footpeg brackets. I have been asking around trying to find out if anyone made them. I noticed the holes in the frame and figured they could be used for that purpose. I think there is a sizeable demand for such an aftermarket item (hint to brent)

if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

Brad,

A center stand would interfere with the pipes on these bikes. That's why they don't have one.

Kenny,

If you go to the message archives, there's a thread with pics(also a few pics of my '70 Triumph "Streettracker"...sorry I HAD to mention that), regarding these brackets and footpegs..."Re. Crazy idea and question on foot pegs", posted by BA.com member Todd Richmond(bmwhd, to us here) from the Lone Star State. He is in the process of making a batch of these babies, the last I heard. But that was a few months back, and the last message I received from him he said other personal concerns were getting in the way of this project. I'm sure I'll hear from him shortly regarding these brackets and pegs.

You might want to send him a PM and see where he's at presently with this thing.

Cheers,
Dwight

I actually made this one. It works ... A bit shaky lifting the bike alone though .. The pole distances you from the bike a bit .. It was made when I had a Sporty also ...

Hmmmm, I guess anything is possible.. but I climbed up under there the other day, and it sure does look like they had something in mind when they designed the lower frame supports

Cheers,
Brad
