Can anyone tell me the diameter of the D shaped carb tool?

Im going to make a proper tool to do this job.

I can't tell you the dimension but you can make one out of standard automotive steel brake line. A sharp rap on the end will put a proper D on it.

Or get these from Direct Parts

A roll pin of the proper diameter works pretty good.Put the end on a bench vise with the slit area pointing up. A couple of light whacks with a hammer,and you should be all set.A rubber cap plug on the other end for a better finger grip,and for about .28c you can not go wrong.I mean after all,you are only gonna use the darn thing a couple of times,unless you just cannot keep your GD fingers out of the carbs.If that is the case you need more than a d-tool. if you decide to buy one, dont get the one from Triumph, the mech at the local dealer tells me it sucks. he said he ordered his from brent or bellacourse(cant remember what he said) but i do recall him saying that was way better.
