No, nothing to do with the T-Bird. That would only be contaminated again and therefore perhaps deleted. From our usual source I got a snippet that I am not allowed to reveal openly. I did, however, get permission to put it in a riddle. So, here goes my pathetic Nostradamus-styled attempt: T'was in the dozenth year minus two Whence the victorious brotherhood begat. A 3-pronged heart of four score tenfold To be shared by their dizygotic offspring. One, a personality not unlike the appearance of Janus The other, to resemble its elder apex predator sibling. I know I could probably refine it a bit given more time ... Let's see what you make of that.

T'was in the dozenth year minus two 2010
Whence the victorious brotherhood begat. Triumph created
A 3-pronged heart of four score tenfold 3 cylinder 800 cc
To be shared by their dizygotic offspring. To be shared by the 2 cylinder models?
One, a personality not unlike the appearance of Janus One looks like the original (Bonneville?)
The other, to resemble its elder apex predator sibling. The other like the Tiger?

A 3-pronged heart of four score tenfold 3 cylinder 800 cc - or 3 cylinders of 800cc = 2400cc
To be shared by their dizygotic offspring. To be shared by the 2 cylinder models? - I think this means there will be a triple and twin platform
One, a personality not unlike the appearance of Janus One looks like the original (Bonneville?)- Don't think so. Janus is the duel faced god used by the Romans to guard doors and gates so that evil could be seen on both sides of the gateway. So, a personality not unlike the appearance of Janus I think would me that this is a triple that will look similar to the twins.
A 2010 "triple"Bird called the Tiger maybe.

OK, let's try again ...
"T'was Michelangelo, the First Choice of Tuscany".
So, here's what Mike, AKA FCTush said:
"Perhaps a Dual Sport, and a street Tiger Cub?"
... and he was SPOT ON!
Well done Mike!
So, we have a Dual Sport and a Baby Tiger, both sharing an approx. 800cc 3-cylinder engine, to be launched in 2010 (or 2011 ).
Bedouin.

I think the 'other one' will sell, and sell precisely to the audience Triumph has targeted with it...
Of course most of those savvy new Triumph owners will wonder why a rock power trio from Canada is now selling motorcycles.

Okay. I'm a bit confused here.
As it now stands, Triumph has deemed the name "Tiger" to be affixed to the "Dual-Sport" models of their lineup, and so when Mike said, "Perhaps a Dual Sport, and a street Tiger Cub?", isn't that redundant, and thus wouldn't that, in essence, be one and the same motorcycle here?
And so, are we talking about a whole new 800cc triple-cylinder engine placed into a Dualie-style AND a Speed Triple-style road machine, OR are we talking about the much rumored 675 Tiger Cub and some other completely new machine???
I guess I'm confused because I can't see any reason for Triumph to make a 675 AND a 800cc triple, as those displacements are so close in size, and besides there's already a smaller roadbike using the 675 engine, and of course that's called the Street Triple!

Essentially the same bike but one dual-purpose (on-off) oriented (forks, shocks, clearance, wheel travel etc.), also with touring capability and probably targeted at the BMW GS 800. This size engine was long-awaited (until the GS800 came) for by the adventure-touring crowd, where the 1200's etc. were too heavy and the 650's too small.
The other a street-oriented baby Tiger.

Hummmm...Then that appears to mean that you're a total of THREE redundants there then, right Gregger?!
(HEY, just think...if you were only SIX MORE "redundants" then you could beat that NEW RECORD of "redundants" that this crazy broad here in California just set, HUH?!)

Wrong, Dwight. Only the second and third are redundant. The first is dundant. And isn't "crazy broad" redundant? And "crazy broad in California" is doubly so

If I recall correctly, the 800 GS is 20-25 kg's lighter (around 50 lbs). For adventure-touring (including off-road work), that's a significant difference.
