I have seen some fancy cars that are illuminated underneath. Its a subtile gloing light making the car resemble of a space ship.
I wonder if something similar can be done to a bike. Some hidden spotlight making the ground under it glow, or making the crome shine in the dusk.
What do you guys think, am I beeing realistic here??

There are also mnay LED kits that will do the same thing, and the are much more user friendly than the neon tubes. Boogey LEDs

i had two neon/led's under the bonnie
the bolt on ones connected o the rear light wires looked good at night
cheap alternative from a car shop

 I'm a fan... I have a Streetfighter bandit with blue Glo engine, swingarm, and bellypan. When I rebuilt Kirsty's Goo5e I fitted them as a surprise  ... and I have just removed a red array from my Speedy fender as it is currently being "reworked"  ... I have found that the neon tubes, and led light kits available are either unsuitable or too expensive  ... Our local car shop sells Jap import stick on led strips for the boy racers... These are good sizes, cheap enough, easy to fit, and last a long time. (6 yrs on bandit and still going.)

Good information!
I have to consider this yet, its a fine line between cool and tackey. I dont want my bike to look like a rolling circus, hahah. However, I think I will go for it.
Would be cool having a ground effect that kept on shining some minute after parking the bike.

I like this idea too. I've seen a few HDs here that were tastefully done, and I admit to bein' a litle jealous.

use an interior light timer relay from a car... lasts about 10 seconds after killing the ignition... Will easily take the consumption for a few led's...

Good idea. With some tampering I guess these 10 seconds can be increased. I will check out the local car store like you suggested.
Will take months before I can attend to the project so there will be no pictures of it at any time soon Im afraid.
Any one else that has pics of illuminated bikes? I found some at the net but they were not that good.

I've added a few LED's to light up my America as well, sadly no good pictures to show off and it is sitting in the garage with the tank and eat off at the moment. The tin on the bike is painted red so I went with red LED's which I placed between the carbs to light up the void, under the tank above the valve cover (but those ones don't reflect as well, maybe once I get the chrome cover though), and a brake LED bar under the bike facing the rear tire. All are nicely tucked away and hidden, never even know they're there till night time.

Should I get chance when I next get out the Suki I will get some pics... The problem seems to be they only ever look good in the dark...
