I do not undertand how a car company like Chrysler does not have its own fuel conservation technology. What do their brain dead engineers do? Just like HD who had to hire Porshe to design their new engine. Could not they do it themselves?

"Wanna buy a Chrysler Cinquecento?" Nahh! I think I'll wait until I can purchase a "beautiful" new Chrysler Multipla, just like this one here ....
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have had loads of Fiats and the Fiat Multipla is a real comfortable car for driving any distance. Took one from Scotland to the South of Spain the passengers all had plenty of room. It was not a bad vehicle. The looks also mean it was unlikely to be knicked by the wee scrotes round our way who seem to be able to smell a half decent car a mile away.

Wow! So let me get this straight here then, Eric!
The thing is sooooooooooo friggin' ugly in PERSON(we don't get 'em over here and so I've never had the "pleasure" of seeing one "in person", you see), that EVEN the LOWLIFES out there amoungst us thoughtout the world, who are "maybe" juuuuuuust a little too lazy to work hard enough to be able to afford to own such vehicles legitimately and thus steal cars which other people might prize as an example of desirability, well, they aren't even tempted to even TOUCH the Multipla because it is sooooo STONE UGLY???
Well now, I must say that that IS quite an "endorsement" there!!!

It was not a bad vehicle. It will be if Chrysler get a hold of it.

Okay, all kidding aside about the "aesthetically challenged" Multipla, here's my initial thoughts about this Chrysler/Fiat "marriage" here....
(and BTW, before I go any farther here, I want to say that I TOO have a "soft spot" in my heart for Fiats, having owned a '69 124 Sport Coupe, a '74 X1/9 and a '77 124 Spider in the past and mainly enjoying their ownership over the years.......)
Chrysler apparently couldn't make a go of it during the time it was owned by the prestigious Mercedes Benz concern, and now with the unfortunate track record with the North American public which Fiat "nurtured" until they pulled up stakes and quit said N.A. market a couple of decades ago, well, I don't see this as being much a "positive step" or it being the salvation of Walter P. Chrysler's baby here....sorry!
(but THAT'S just ME ya know...The "Doubting Thomas" of BA.com...I actually HOPE I'm wrong here!)

Will the offspring from a Chrysler and Fiat marriage resemble the same sort of genetic mishap that is produced by your brother marrying your sister? Never had a Fiat, never really wanted to with the issues they have had about reliability. I have a PT cruiser convertible - great in the sunshine, a pig in the winter, a turning circle of Arethra Franklin and the stopping distance of Stephen Hawkin on the cresta run. All things considered that Fiat multipla don't look so bad.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

"Not a bad Vehicle" is not the kind of vehicle I want to drive. I want something that is great. I want something I want to keep for 10 years or more, just like my motorcycles.

Renowned for Italian style, class and finesse - Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini and.... Fiat?! The Fiats have more or less all been ugly IMO apart from the X1/9 which was initially not so bad at the time I recall, but ended up being driven by hairdressers...
