I'm seeing a lot of people talking about progressive shocks and I like the looks of the lowered bikes but I know absolutely nothing about shocks. I like the looks of the black ones on newspeedmaster.com but how do you know what size and how are they installed? Do you also do something with the front? Thanks...I'm new to this!

stock are 12.5, so 11.5 would be an inch lower. how tall r u? you dont have to do the front but it is recomended to keep handling up. you could try the back first then do the front if your not happy. either way you should upgrade the fronts, best 55 bucks you can spend. easy to install to. do one side at a time and with a lil help you can do it in about 10min. just the 2 bolts and your all set.

Well I'm only 5'6" so lower is better. I do have the low profile seat from newspeedmaster so that helps. Where do I get the front shocks?

Mikkell, I got mine at PhatPerformance for the best price ($258). I tried the lowering thing with 11" rear shocks from a Honda 750 Shadow and drug a lot of chrome off my 28" Dunstall pipes. So I ordered the stock length 12.5" rears. The shorter ones are priced the same. Mikkell,bought the 812's last summer from Eddy for Nanci's bike, much better ride,brought it down nice too.She also has the low seat from Brent and has no problems any more being comforable on the bike,she's about five three.

Can someone clarify an issue for me with the 412-4253C shock lengths?
Fast Eddy shows the 412-4253C as 12.5 inches long and Phat shows them as 11.5 long.
Which one is right?
It appears the
412-4252C are the same length on both sites at 12.5 inchss (heavy duty)
412-4254C are the same length on both sites at 11.5 inches
