I've just been informed that my company, Northrop Grumman, hired Orange County Choppers to build a commemorative 20th anniversary tribute to the Stealth Bomber. The episode featuring the buildup will be aired as the next season premiere. IWhile there are some interesting aspects of the design, it's is the usual abomination coming out of that shop. The bike is being featured on our corporate homepage: http://www.northropgrumman.com/

I'm curious to see how they rigged up the steering. Caution REALLY BIG PICTURE (which is why I'm not embedding it here): http://media.primezone.com/cache/189/hires/6415.jpg

That has to be THE worst bike OCC has ever built. I actually like a few of their bikes but this...this is aweful.

That so called "gas tank" looks like the front end of the Night Rider Big Wheel I had when I was a kid

Wow! I must say that I'm personally SHOCKED that those fellas who have nutured a reputation for building so many "beautifully understated" motorcycles over the years, would come up with THIS??? (BTW...the above response was an example of EXTREME SARCASM, for those a little slow on the ol' uptake around here)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I actually think they might have had something till they did the front end/headlight/airplane thing. Pretty funny looking.

It might have not looked so bad if it was the same color as the stealth bomber. That light grey does not do anything for it. Stealthy should be black. You know it is our tax dollars that paid for that.

...I think it's kind of cool...
Sorry about the whole bonus thing but maybe they'll make souvenir mugs and you can have one for your desk.
or...or... maybe they'll have a drawing so a select group of employees can have their photos taken on the bike!

Um, I'm gonna hafta respond to this one. When people say, "our tax dollars paid for that" they're generally implying that the taxpayers were "fleeced" or ripped off. Our profits paid for this abomination, and while said profits more than likely came from government contracts, there is no direct connection between the taxpayer and OCC. The taxpayers paid for the bomber, and the profit from that project (or countless other projects like the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan or the Joint Strike Fighter) went to many things, not the least of which was this chopper, but certainly weren't used for any kind of bonus for anyone working in the IT Division like me.
Not that I'm bitter or anything. I'm just happy to have a job in this economy.

It looks like a dolphin with windows and wheels to me. You're a lucky man FJ, my bonus and my raise just misteriously vanished in the name of "the current economic climate". I didn't get no stupid lookin' O.C.motosikle in return.

It's visionary Bill,
A veritable OCC homerun, after all these years of mucking about and sniffing airplane glue, that "Mikey" character got it right.
It's the best they've ever done, which says a lot
I like the friar john coffee mug idea though.

No offense meant. But I have come to the conclusion that highly successful companies are tied to the government one way or another. They either have big contracts, work with someone who does, get favorable regulations, or now big bailouts (or all/some of the above).
PS My daughter works for Raytheon and we are very proud of her. I am not sure what a Raytheon chopper would look like. Maybe a raked out cruise missle in orange.

Actually our bonuses were eliminated years ago, right after NG bought us (TRW). Don't know about this year's raise if any. We're just starting the annual review process. Did my creative writing assignment, er, I mean self-appraisal last week.

Well, considering the crowd cooker Raytheon developed for Uncle Sadistic, it better have a flamin' skeleton paint theme.

To me it looks like some kind of toy model. I would hate to hear how much they charged to build it.
