Hey Lee, let us know when you figure that one out.
He don't hang around these parts anymore.
Maybe he sold the Trumps and bought a three wheeled Harleeeeeee

Now don't quote me here, but the word is that after he re-did his den and put that big ol' flat-screen TV and surround-sound system in it, he's now totally hooked on the high-def image and golden tones of Oprah, and now has no time left over in his busy schedule anymore for these riffraffs around here.

(...but like I said, don't quote me on this)

He's on sabbatical. Like all good sons he will eventually return to his roots. In the meantime, buy a map. That's what Phil might say.

PES...I know the city like the back of my hand, lived here before already, just wanted Phil's wisdom, good attitude, and companionship to TRULY enjoy this town. Yota, you think you could PM me that addy, maybe I could be one of those ceepy stalker types who drops by unnanounced (sorta like some of those hairy backed guys from Kentucky; no offense buddy). Anyhoo, thanks everyone maybe he will get in touch...

Lee

PS....are there any other riders in Ft. Lauderdale?

Brownnoser!

(just kiddin' Gordon...I agree with ya)

And BTW folks, I THINK I've figured out this whole disappearin' act of Phil's here. Yep!

Did anybody else notice that our illustrious Administrator's disappearance JUST HAPPENED to coincide with the very first spy photos released of that new Thunderbird? HUH?! HAVE YA???!!!

So I'M thinkin' the b*stard STOLE MY IDEA about supplyin' aftermarket FINS for that machine, and has been dilligently workin' on THAT idea of MINE every chance he gets, and thus LEAVING NO TIME for us OR his administrative functions around here anymore!!!

(why the no good S.O.B!...I'm gonna contact my lawyer IMMEDIATELY!!!!)

I feel like one of the lucky ones. Having met and road with Mr. Robert Wade, super guy. Some will remember him at the Ga Rally in 06 or 07 maybe.

Not all. A few were constantly challenging authority on a (free) site they had no right to. I'm not naming names. It has a cumulative effect on those above my paygrade. The appreciative ones do help, but the PITA ones are a lot louder and the barrage is often constant. Also, Robert and Phil aren't huge jerks like me. I can ignore it. But it gets to normal people after a while.

Phil didn't have to take the admin job and could have stepped down if he didn't like it. Robert could have ported the .com to anybody and bailed as he makes no money on it.

Where is Dingua? Same situation I guess.

FJ, I would suggest you make a phpbb as a placeholder and capture all the email addys on this board. At any time robt. can just pull the plug and its over.

We should migrate away from a non-accessible host and admin. Its too dangerous for the continued health of the board.

oh, Phil, normal? right lol

Just a point of history for the newer members - if it wasn't for Phil, this site wouldn't be here.....
In 2004, Mr. Wade was going to shut her down. Actually it did go away for several months. Thanks to the efforts of Phil and some other regulars at the time, the site was resurrected as we see it today.

It has crossed my mind that the board might cease to exist too. Photopost and archives have been down with no word on a fix and it has had errors with no fix. Correct me if I am wrong, but in the past those would have been addresses before now. I would hate to see this board die or even lose members weather I agree with that member or not each and every one supplies a point of view.

I don't want to alarm anyone, but after all this talk I did something I've been meaning to do for some time: saved off every thread in the Tech Vault. I won't publish it anywhere online unless this site disappears. It's all just saved as static HTML. I can't see backing up the entire site this way.

I am a real geek, but not this kind. Let me ask some of my nerdier friends, but I would not be hopeful of gathering content in that way.
