Hi all, I just wanted to wish each and every one of you a very Happy and Merry Christmas and an even better New Year (I'm sure most of us could use one!) All is fine here in western Connectictut, just enjoying the 10 inches (or so) of nice powdery white stuff we've gotten since this weekend, and the blisteringly cold -5 we had this morning. We go back to 50 and rainy tomorrow but I think we've got enough of the stuff that some will last until Christmas morn at least! We've finally given in to the Wii phenomenom with the kids (or will have Christmas morning), but otherwise we plan a nice quiet Christmas here and then we'll spend the rest of the day just over the hills in New York (Pawling, about 10 miles as the crow flies over the mountains and the New York line) The bike is on her battery tender already dreaming of warmer days, and I'm hoping to get some fork maintenance in on her this winter if time permits).

On the western front, I've expanded my job search now to Utah as well as Colorado to improve my odds, and have a face to face interview with a medical company in Salt Lake on the 30th. Been a long time since I've been out that far west, but it would get me within 7-1/2 to 8 hours drive of my family in Denver (or an hours flight), and a half hour from some great skiing in Park City and Sundance!(not to mention mountain riding!) For now at least, the job in CT seems to be stable, but given that we're about the only part of the company that ISN'T tied to automotive (we're primarily aerospace, and military, medical and satellite stuff seem to be keeping us busy enough, but...) so I'm definitely keeping my eyes open, thinking medical or alternative energy is the way of the future for now at least! I've also got a slim prospect at a face to face with a medical company in Boulder, CO as well, but right now hedging my bets on Salt Lake, it seems more likely.

Hope this finds all of you well, in good spirits, and great health, and talk to you on the other side of New Years!

All the Best and Cheers,
Greg

Hey Greg,

Good Luck with the search, I spent 10 years in Utah as the token Gentile, before obtaining my green card to Montana. I loved the Utah landscapes, red rock canyons & pinyon' pine.

Don't know much about SLC, except it's very big and they have stop & go lights..........Merry Christmas

Thanks, and good luck on the interview!

Merry Christmas to all on this site. I have just confirmed my Christmas gift is in the bank. My first paycheck since June!! WooHooooo! I need nothing else for Christmas now except to stop on the way home and buy the wife a small gift since I have $ in the bank.

Noel, Tom.

But, what do I know?

Merry Christmas All!!!

And even IF all our fortunes should wane in the coming year, I think Clarence's message to George here pretty much expresses my thoughts about my fellow BA.com members.....

Dwight, I see that in my absence, you have MORE than made up for my lack of posting!!!! When you hit 10,000 posts do you achieve another level of existence, or evolve into a higher energy-based lifeform capaable of transcending time and space?

Christmas day and I'm starting to know what you northerners feel about winter. It's been raining for a while and I haven't ridden for a week. Here in SoCal we expect to ride all year long. I guess I'll have to wait until this weekend.

Merry Christmas to all!

This is definitely the time of year to be grateful for all our blessings. I just got back from a trip to South America and a friend we were traveling with got ill and did not come back as planned. She had to have emergency surgery and is in critical condition in Buenos Aires. We thought she was just sick and would be coming home the next day after us. Turns out she's barely surviving and we are praying she will make it home.

It's warm here (70°) but very wet and muggy. We got home barely in time to do some Christmas decorating to get into the spirit of Christmas. But, this Christmas has made me think more about what Christmas is really about. We all are looking forward to a happy new year!
