Hmmmmmm....Studed snow tires for that bike of yours, huh?! Ahh come on now, dude! Maybe THIS'll help ya get into the ol' spirit here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yQ2xqCE2E8 (BTW, if it makes you feel any better, it has been a little wet lately down here in SoCal too, but NOT NEARLY cold enough for it to fulfill Bing's wish for one o' those particular colored type of Christmases he was so famous for.....as usual)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Four hundred dollars for two knobby tires? Are they nuts? Those Cheng Shin tires are about twenty dollars each. When I lived in snow-land, we would put hex head sheet metal screws in the knobbies, some guys even sharpened the heads with a file. Fifty bucks for the tires, maybe four or five for a box of screws, and ten minutes labor.

Next tim eyou change tires, keep the old ones, drive self tapping screws in them and grind off the insides, studded tires,no problem! (it works for a cage, not sure I want to be on two wheels on the ice and snow though!

All they are is sheet metal screws, screwed into a set of knobies. You could make your own! I saw a segment on "Super bikes"' where they were racing crotch rockets on the ice and they just got a set of old tires and put screws in them, along with a bottle of Slime. Those guys were dragging their knees on the ICE, so it must work.
