I just got a pair of stock long slash cut exhuasts and want to remove the the inside baffles. After reading the posts that sounds like the way to go, I heard the Gunter Saw is floating around here, does anyone have it?
I pay the shipping or if you ship it to me I will pay the shipping for the next person.

Thanks, found your post a few days later after posting. Followed your instructions and made the saw, I was able to drill out the fist two baffles in less than fifteen minutes. Tried them on but was not happy with the sound, so I knocked out what was left of the 2nd baffle and drilled out the 3rd one. The third baffle came out fast, just let the tool do its work. What a difference in sound!
I purchased the bike used and it had supertrapp mufflers, which are 8 inches shorter than the original slash cut (paid $50 for an almost new set.
Now, I am reading up on jetting and I feel good about so I will check the size of jets I have in there and see what I need to replace them with.
Thanks to all the great articles here.

Where is that tool floating around at? I was thinking of taking the baffles out of my short slash cut pipes. Has anyone done those before? How does it sound?

I have the Gunter saw, and I'm hoping to be done with it in a week. When it goes to the next person, I'll pay shipping, and also include a 12" extension that I bought. The tool won't reach the third baffle without that. PM your address and I'll send it your way.

Do you still have the Gunter saw or did you forward it to Midnight Rider? When I went looking for the Genter saw Midnight Rider sent me a PM and said that he was told to ask for $60 from whoever he forwarded it to. Did he pay you $60 to get the saw?

No Problem Friar. Sometimes stuff like that happens before the second cup of coffee (or after the 3rd beer).

I made the Gunter saw , used it and sent it out for everyone to use and send along. The cost to ship [I believe at the time] was around $7.00 for postage.I plan on making up another when I'm back on my home turf[I work a lot on the road] I hope it's used and sent along in the spirit of the first one. See ya & hear ya on the road , Mike

I'm in full modding mode with my new '09 TA and was wondering who has the Gunter Saw and could I get it down here to Seguin, Texas? I take it that I will have to remap the EFI after the mod, correct?

I sent mine to Personal Triumph about 2-3 weeks ago, check with him to see if he still needs it.
The tool I made works best with slash cut mufflers not the tappered ends. Look for a post by Dog33 he debaffled tappered end mufflers.

I have seen tapered mufflers done leaving the taper on but have never done that. I cut the pipe where the last baffle is inside the pipe, just behind it. That leaves about an inch of the taper at the end. Then from there just debaffle like slash cuts.
