Well, after over 6 months of unemployment and 140+ applications sent, I start work on Monday!
It's a contract posistion, with possible hire-on after 6 months testing helicopters! I've already found a room to rent during the week, as it is too far to commute, but I will be able to go home on the weekends. It's a late Birthday present or early Christmas, either way I'm grateful and relieved. I should get my first paycheck before Christmas.

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?

Congrats my friend nothing worse than wanting to work and not being able to. One thing worries me though...testing helicopters is that not a bit like you will only ever find one faulty.....

I cannot decide whether to be a good example or a horrible warning ! Peace & respect http://www.tomcc.org/gg/ Eric

Thanks!
I'll be on the ground side of the testing. Not that I don't want to snag a ride! Never flown in a copter... yet...

later, Tom.

Choppers are cool!! I used to fly out to the oil rigs several times a week (Gulf of Mexico), usually in Bell 206s and 212s. I saw last night that over 500,000 jobs were lost last month alone. Congrats on finding something good!

Tom,

Great news, but sorry about the distance from home. I've been there twice myself. Once when I was working in CT and the family was in VA Beach, and then when I first came down to Florida I rented a room for the first 9 months until I ended up moving the whole family down from VA Beach.

Congratulations, and have a Great Christmas!!!

Tom

It's about 90 miles, or almost 2 hours without speeding, so I don't want to spend 20 hours a week on the road.... If you figure 80 hours a month, then to rent a room for $125 a week in the West Palm area is a deal!

Hey, maybe I can get Phil to return my phone calls and have a drink with him to confirm he hasn't droopped off the face of the planet!

Thanks all.
