Frank I was talking about progressive 412 shocks . They improve the ride a good bit over stock.

I love the 412 rear shocks and front springs. I got mine at PhatPerformance and paid < $260 front & rear, including shipping.

How difficult was the front spring install? I have an 06 America. Any mods required? Great price by the way. Steve

Jack it up , take off the caps , pull out the stockers , drop the new springs in , replace caps , let the bike down , go ride . Too easy .

I noticed there are several 11.5's with different part #'s but no noticeable difference, at least to me. Can someone enlighten me? Would prefer the chrome.

The part # I ordered was 4254C for the rear 11.5" They are the chrome springs and caps.
The 'heavy duty' # is 4252C according to the reference charts given on Phat Performance web site

i put heavy duty springs on the rear of mine, i then took them off and sold them, it might of well have been an iron bar welded to the back of the bike, it didnt spring at all, no movement it was just so hard and unrideable, i went for the a set of hagon 11.5 rear and as for the front springs 1 inch shorter as well, took me nearly 2 days to put the front springs in, you gotta take the forks apart and take the lower spring out to put in the shorter rbound spring, note... do not take out the bottom allan nut with an allen key, use a air wrench or you will be there for hours, it will just turn otheriwse. (from experience)

Was that on an America/Speedmaster? Because it only took me like 20 minute to do both fork springs. I also have the heavy duty rear shocks, it's not stiff for me....also a 20 minute job.... just curious....

I also have the 412HD's, & they are perfect for me on preload setting #2. The bike has some extra weight from hard bags & accessories, but I'm no cookie monster (approx. 170lbs. buck nekkid).

Dave:
Got mine in today Plan on installing this weekend on my BA.
Did you add the 'lowering kit' for the front forks? Looking at the manual it appears you have to remove the Damper Rod to add the lowering spring.
Thanks
Kevin
