So the America I was looking at didn't pan out.
But, I've come across a 2007 Speedmaster with the following: Roadster Screen, Lightbar, Scottoiler, Saddlebags with ez-brackets, Solo Gel Seat, along with original, rear rack and 2 new tires, also has 17,000 miles on it. He wants $5399. Just curious if this is a fair price.
I'm interested in any and all thoughts.

I think you can get it for less, not that 17k is high mileage, it's not even medium mileage, but maybe he doesn't know that? 4500-5000 would be better, but you probably already had that in mind

I dunno...its an 07 and thats a lot of coin in accessories. Granted accessories loose 50% as soon as they are bought and dropping the price of the bike by $3000 for only a year... Id figure the bike new with all the mentioned accesories (not counting labor to instal them) puts is at about $10,000 ($2000 in accessories and $8000 for the bike). Id say $5300 is a fair asking price.
You can probably get it for a little less if you have cash in hand and if the seller is motivated. But Id still say more than fair on the asking price....especially if you really want the older tank shape.

Thanks for the replies.
I was pretty much thinking it was a fair price. Just for the simple fact that a brand new one with tax, title & license out the door is $10,200 here.

These bikes depreciate much faster than they should, based on cost vs. remaining life. That's a terrific price, especially if he had the 12K service (valve adjustment) done.

It really boils down to the sellers motivation, what I meant in my previous post is that he is asking 5300 ( a very good price), he may go lower, like to 5000 or under. Even asking price is a good deal, but I always feel like there is some room to haggle (at least 300 bucks).

Well I ALWAYS offer an embarrassing amount. You can always negotiate UP, not down. There was a local Yamaha Roadstar that was selling for 4900 and I offered 2650 cash today! He just about flipped out. Two days later he calls back and said he could only go 3500. Mind you this was a bike with a TRADE IN value of 3900.
If you're in a hurry to buy, go with your gut and NEVER look back. If you're not in a hurry(why would you be?), use your head and deal like a pro.

Honestly, I'm not in a hurry. I'm still kind of hesitant to purchase atm because I really want to wait for the Thunderbird next year. And I've already got a bike(which I don't want to get rid of). So, I kind go either way with this.
