Yes BUT.... If you go America to Speedy you need this: Gunfighter adaptor and youll wind up re-using your pillion bolt. If you go Speedy seat to America (with Pillion) you need this: Slotted Seat Bolt and maybe one of these: Pillion BoltIf you go America solo then maybe one of these: Solo Seat Bolt and something to plug the hole left over hole....or not.

Same applies to the gunfighter adaptor from fasteddy.

It screws into the threaded hole on the fender (it's under the seat post that is there now).

Does anybody know of a good two-up touring seat that will fit the America. I like doing long rides, and I don't think my girlfriend is gonna last all that long on the stock pillion pad.

The later model America came with a better pillion pad, its wider and softer, and not humped in the middle. As far as aftermarket, the Corbin is very nice, my fiance will ride hundreds of miles in a day without complaining now that I got one, and I love mine.

Are you talking about the "Classic Solo and Pillion?"

Just a bit of advice just in case you were in any doubt, for two up I believe you can't spend too much on a descent seat for your girlfriend.
I put this type of thing in the same category as camping ie, do it properly the first time and she'll want to come back for a second and third time etc. Do it badly and she may think twice before getting back into the saddle so to speak.
I know myself how important a good seat is ie I have a Corbin solo, so with the help of one of my yanky contacts here, who was generous enough to on-send a corbin pillion seat (aussie distributor doubled the price here), my missus whilst normally not that interested in riding with me, is now much happier and it's because of the good seat.

Oh, I'm all about that. I found a cheap second hand seat for my Beemer that turned out to be just the thing for me. It more or less removed the limit to the amount of time I could spend on the bike.

ya know, the biggest concern for my lady is whether i roll like literski...or kennymc. comfort is relative...yet necessary for any type of riding. do your kidneys get punched often?

Right here's another Question.............
When the America front seat goes on, does anything go between the rear mount and the fender, or does that chrome bracket just scrape the paint away?

it fits on there pretty well, but will put some wear marks on it. a rubber washer would alleviate the problem. or don't worry about it, it's covered up anyway

Thanks roadworthy. I've put a couple of rubber o-rings under there - just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing any parts. Looks sweet(er) now!

I used an old intertube to cut a "gasket" the exact size (actually, slightly larger) of the chrome bracket, cause I found it made marks at the very outer edge of the bracket area, due to "rocking" sideways on the seat. The problem was much worse on the P-pad. It will be even worse with a O ring only under the bolt hole area, cause it will now rock more. Hope this made sense, but if not, you'll SEE what I mean in the near future.
And you may see me tonight

The last ride this year with the rock river rat group I must of got poked 4 times at least. She said she would prefer something solid to grab and hold during the twisties. mike
