Hi all Off on the Dent Rally next year and will be away on the bike for 4 nights so need some storage. Have been scouting about and quite like the look of the K-Drive bags. Does anyone have any experience of these bags or indeed any better suggestions? I like the idea of being able to easily remove them once i arrive at the rally. Cheers Mark

kin ell ow much?????? do you have a rack fitted? I always found the Oxford tailpacks to be excellent, and they're always going 2nd hand on Ebay. Ventura packs are good too.

I don't have a rack fitted. Managed to get all my stuff for a single night into a bag and bungeed the bag and tent to the pillion pad... which was fine. But 4 nights would definitely be a challenge! Intend to take a small stove and food this time too.
Yup, £321 it is a lot of money. But then the standard Triumph ones are £312.

I have the K Drive bags on my bike. They are expensive but they're good. The click on and off system is good and you can lock them on. I'm impressed. I'd get the ones without the studs if I was doing it again though.

This guy Custom-Cruisers-UK supplies the click back bag system for our bikes, again a bit expensive, I almost bought a set at last years NEC show where he had a stall and was doing the larger size for the price of the standard delivered as well, however I picked up a set of leather Givi throwovers and fabricated rails to hold them out similar to the Triumph ones.

Mark,I don't know how much 424.67 pounds in Amercian currency is, but for around $150 you can get a set of Easy Brackets and then you have several options for saddle bags from $200 on up. Saddleman and Tourmaster Cruiser II come to mind. I have Willie and Max Condors. Check out www.NewSpeedmaster.com and www.fasteddysports.com to check out some bags. Cheers.

Wow! Nice looking bike Mark. You have good taste. But.... what's that monstrous yellow thing on the back. Couldn't they make them any bigger? I've had a few ales at the Cat and Fiddle, I came from Leek originally. Be way too cold up there at this time of the year for me. Just getting into an Australian summer and beach (not b.tch) weather. Hope you enjoy your new bags whatever you get. Cheers Terry

It's worse than than that... one of the reasons the bloody things have to be so big over here in the UK is ANPR!
As a vehicle passes through an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera, it takes an image of the number plate. Those details are then fed into a system which checks them against sources such as the Police National Computer (PNC), Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), Local Force Intelligence systems and motor insurers databases. If the number plate is matched to one of the sources, the ANPR equipment will sound an alert.
Vehicles which have sounded an alert will then be stopped by intercept team officers for further investigation. Unlicensed or uninsured vehicles are likely to be seized on the spot by ANPR equipped officers.
ANPR cameras are located in mobile units (vans), in Roads Policing patrol cars, at dedicated fixed sites and via Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) schemes in urban areas. Latest scheme in Essex involves ANPR from a helicopter that can read a plate from 2000 feet, run the checks and radio ahead for intercept.
It's tempting to now list some of the terrible crimes (especially in the press recently) that seem to go ignored by the authorities, but i won't.

Thanks for your post. Enlightening. Leaves me speechless. Really enjoy the insight. Is that kind of thing going on around here and no one is telling us about it? +1 to the easy brackets, reinforced bags and looks without the bags attached.
