I was out today, Xmas shopping with Wendy and I had to get some blank DVDs. Staples had 50 packs of blanks for $4.80!! Couldn't pass that up.

Didnt do any, wasnt anything worth the trouble to get up early for. Sad how people are so caught up in the getting the best deal first they will stomp a man into the ground and then dont care that they did. Did you see the shooting story at the toys r us in cali? How sad is this country getting?

No I hadn't seen that. That kind of misbehavior is crazy. I didn't get up extra early or anything. Left here about 7 AM. Nothing in those stores is worth getting that out of line about. It also makes a sad statement on what our society is becoming. I keep moving more and more rural trying to get away from it and back to the farm life I remember growing up.

At Lowes, we were really busy, sometimes the traffic in the store was as bad as L.A. rush hour but most folks behaved, all behaved better than those in NY and CA. Got a real deal on a small compressor for in the garage. Seems wallyworld had a similar unit with no accessories for less than our marked down price, so we matched it. Ours came with a brad nailer/crown stapler, hose and tire inflator whiles theirs was just the compressor. Needed one anyway because the compressor in the shop is not easy to move and the shop is some 150 ft from the garage.

That's almost as bad as the OK Corral shootout at a Toys R Us in California. Darwin's law prevailed and both perps won't be celebrating Christmas. What kind of moron packs a gun to go toy shopping?

Almost talked myself into going to Home Depot yesterday to buy a compressor too, but common sense prevailed. It's not so much the store that I mind, it's the nutcases on the roads on Black Friday.

it's sickening.... and then the crowd gets mad that the store is closing because an employee died? saying "I've been in line since yesterday!" like that makes it better? and this happens EVERY YEAR, this wasn't the first time people died on Black Friday from being trampled.... makes me sick...

We did the early morning thing at Best Buy couple years back.Line snaked around the building. The manager came out with security and walked down the line asking what you were in line to buy. He then gave you a numbered coupon to buy that item until they were gone.
This idea worked great, no hassle from the crowd.
I also found out you can buy some of these Black Friday deals on line for the discount price. My sis just purchased a LCD online from Walmart, should have it Tuesday.
If we can buy this crap online why are people standing in line and losing their lives?

Eeh! I don't blame the crowds. It's every man, woman and child for themselves, I always say!!!

In fact, when I'm in line on Black Friday, I always carry my S&W .38 with me just in case something like this happens. And if ANYBODY gets in MY WAY as I'm running to get MY 52in LCD TV for only $899.95...well, lets just say there'll be h*ll to pay!!!

(BTW...Merry Christmas everybody)

Now Dwight, I was out all day and I didn't have to shoot even 1 person. I did almost have to stab that soccer mom trying to take my baby alive though!

Well Gordie, I just heard they've now re-opened that particular Toys R Us and guess what?

Yep, THIS TIME after the doors where re-opened and all the yellow police crime scene tape was removed, ONLY TWO employees sustains VERY MINOR injuries as they happened through the video games section as word spread throughout the horde of bargain-hunting christmas shoppers that there was now 50%-off pricing on the complete stock of "Resident Evil 4", "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas", and "God of War"!!!

(yep, once again...Merry Christmas everybody!)

I'll let you guys in on a secret that I use.... I check out what the ads have on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, buy what I want at regular price, then make my way to customer service at my leisure on Friday afternoon for a prica adjustment. I did it this year and on a 650 dollar purchase, got a 275 dollar adjustment on Friday afternoon. No line either at service desk, because nobody is returning anything. Use this knowledge wisely, my gift to you.

Nothing like a peaceful and holy holiday to be kicked off with complete chaos and some of the most cut-throat jackholes on the planet. Instead the girl and I had our coffee, ate some leftover turkey and climbed on the bike for a 200+ miler.

I spent black friday at home making some ammo. Saturday I went to a Linens and Things store that was going out of business. Since my divorce two years ago I have been getting by with one wash rag and bath towel. It was time to get some more. Got a whole bathroom ensamble including a coordinted shower curtin for 10 bucks. Then I bought another 3 wash rags and 3 towels for another 10. Good day!
