Low-sided the Daytona coming home from work tonight. Temps never got out of the 30's today, and we had light snow last night...might have hit a leftover icy patch or something slick in the road, but the rear lost traction in the middle of a low-speed turn and went down pretty quick. Busted up the right side fiberglass, and the front fairing. Snapped off the front brake lever and right side mirror. I picked the bike up and rode home from there (after retrieving my computer and other pieces from the road), and everything seems fine besides the cosmetic stuff. I've always liked the Speed Triple...now I can make my own hooligan bike. My shoulder is sore, and my ring finger looks like a fat sausage...hip's just a little sore too. Could have been worse, but still pisses me off.

Will

Will, I am sorry you laid it down, but I am glad you have a positive attitude about it!

Sorry to hear it. Mine fell too, a couple weeks ago. It's always a traumatic experience (my third in 40 years of riding). Sometimes takes a while to get your confidence back. Glad your injuries aren't serious.

Glad to hear you made it to tell us about it Will. A hooligan bike sounds to be in order!

Better low side than high side and you're alright. 2 good things. Hope you get back to square one soon.

We can all live with dings & things, I always figure a little mishap posting is an inexpensive, ride safe, reminder for the rest of the neighborhood.

Glad you are fairing well young man

As the others have said, at least you are okay. The bike can be fixed.

Same goes for me, glad you walked away in one piece. Too bad about the yellow zonker though...sure was purty.
