Would like to start by saying hi and that this is the best site for speedmaster info. I have an 08 speedy and im looking for a good set of pipes. I have about 500 bucks to spend and was thinking epco or bubs and was wondering what your thoughts were on these pipes

Rob, if you do a search on "pipes" or "exhaust" you'll find enough reading to keep you busy for days. OR, you can search by brand, Epco, Bubs, Specialty Spares, TOR, or others. I have Specialty Spares and like them better than any of the others I've seen and heard. This is a personal thing - you'll find lots opinions where people love what they have. Just about anything is better than stock.

It's not just about the sound, but performance as well.

BTW, I really like the way the Epco pipes sound. Nice sound, throaty, plenty loud. I have the Scepter pipes, very loud, deep tone. Bubs sound good, not as loud as Epco. I would consider any of the stainless pipes, no worry about rust or flaking chrome.

how much you looking to spend. really comes down to how loud you want as all of these pipes sound a little different. i will say check out thunderbike. but if you can hear them in person thats the best way to decide what you want

The tone of the factory TORS isn't low enough for my taste. I'm thinking about adding a subwoofer under the seat.

Rob, the bike pictured on Fast Eddy's with the SS pipes is my bike. You can check out info on Specialty Spares site as well. They do have a lower or more throaty sound than most. I'd also drop in a UNI filter when you change pipes, lose the snorkel and AI. The SS pipes come with jets that are close to optimum and tested based on that setup.
