I was in So Cal (Southern California for those who don't speak left coast ~~ ) today and dropped in the SoCal Triumph shop. The shop had a really nice selection of bikes ~~ including the light blue Bonneville custom. Everyone at the shop seemed friendly and seemed to know their bikes. They had a good selection of Triumph gear. I ended up buying a hat ~~ I know, I know ~~ I'm a big spender. All in all, not a bad place to hang out a bit.

Isn't that the coastal mountain & manzanita foothill country immediately west of greater Twenty Nine Palms??

Isn't that the place Dwight hangs out at quite a lot? Owned by a guy with an Italian sounding name who does a lot of engine development etc.?
Bedouin.

Nope T-man, that would be South Bay Triumph In Lomita, owned by Matt Capri, who, as you said, is doing quite a lot of performance mods with the twin-cylinder models.
Rob was at SoCal Triumph owned by Tom Hicks, who when Triumph first came back into The States in 1995 was Triumph's first West Coast Director of Dealer Sales for a couple years before moving on to other motorcycle-related ventures.
Tom later opened his dealership about 5 or 6 years ago and has a very nice setup there in Brea(about 25 miles east of Matt's place), where he's now also selling Ducatis and Victorys.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Tom has been recognized for his many contibutions to the motorcycle community. He's about as honest and caring a man as ever has been. His dealership is where I bought my Triumph. I rode 3 hours in L.A. traffic in the morning and probably 4 hours in gridlock traffic to buy my bike from him.

It was nice to be in a dealership that had a nice selection of bikes and gear. The last time I was in my local dealership ~~ just a couple of weeks ago ~~ they only had two Triumph classics/cruisers in the shop (one was a very lightly used Scrambler and one was a new T100). And they aren't even expecting any new Triumphs until spring.
