Hello everybody I’m new here. I didn’t know where else to put this so here it is. I have been lurking for some time now and have decided to join. I have a 2008 Speedy and just love the thing. So with that said I will be asking all of the usual things such as will a front wheel off of a 1846 covered wagon fit my Triumph? Or can I modify the rear sprockets from a drilling rig to fit it.
Glad to be here,
Later,
oldcoot

No to the wagon wheel (1850-1872 might work), but yes for the drilling rig sprocket (provided it's made from a composite steel alloy) Welcome to the site

I believe you have to change the front sprocket too if you do that because the rig doesn't use the same size chain.

Well(pun intended),that would depend on what sprocket from the rig was used and year, make , and model of the rig. So I guess more info would be needed.

It would be a 1948 Franks single and the sprocket would be the draw works drive sprocket from the right side.
It would take the place of the front sprocket on the speedy. With a little shaving of the thickness a bushing and a looooonger chain I should turn around 100 RPM at 64mph.
I’m a Texas hillbilly and I have to use what I have around the house. It’s holding down the toilet lid right now, I finally got the water pressure under control so I need to use the thing some place else.

Welcome! If your new front is the medal clad type of wagon wheel be careful on the wet roads. Also, make sure you keep some Murphy's Oils soap around to clean your spokes.

C'mon now Dwight, go easy on the new guy. We don't want to scare him off, now do we? On the other hand, he did kind of ask for it.... Oh, and by the way, welcome to the site, Worth.

I have to ask you guys, what do you do to keep the gas/petro from running out when you turn your bike upside down to adjust the chain. Worth

We have a chain? Is that bling for around our necks? No but seriously. To keep the fuel from leaking out while you place your bike upside down to adjust the chain...You stick your tongue in the tank and perform a reach-around to pull your chain tight. Wait, are we still talking about bikes?

Chain? Where's that? I don't have one.
