I heard there were chrome problems a few years back. Just a note that I've had the T-Bike pipes on my 2007 for just over a year and 8,000kms. No Chrome issues to date and I love the sound.

I guess my other advantage is that I go to Nelson NZ a few times a year and I could hand carry them back if I ever had problems.

For those that had the chrome issues, how old are your pipes and how many kms/miles on the bike.

I've had mine for about a year and they still make me grin whenever I start the bike. My understanding is there was a batch of bad chroming and that Thunderbike rectified the problem and replaced any affected pieces without question.

One of these days I'll get around to seeing what they sound like with the baffles out.

Not in my case. A bad experience from start to "finish".
Strange how nearly everyone has the same chroming problem to one extent or another.
A "batch"?

An older discussion.

I had them re-chromed (expensive) about a year ago until I dump them and go for the Staintunes (especially now that Fasteddy carries them), no issues at all and I don't wash it after rain that regularly - not with some of the rides I take.
Besides, I shouldn't need to pamper it like that, especially as I have other chrome bits on the bike with no probs.
