No nearly as exciting as all the RocketII rumors, but, a fairly substantiated rumor none the less - A source close to my dealer indicated mid-year color additions for the SM - Mentioned white with the '04 blue in particular. No mention was made regarding a larger displacement.

Hey PEZ, I like "Thunderbird" "Hurricane" "Trident" "Rocket Cub". I bet some of ya'll are glad I'm not in R&D or marketing. I like all three myself. Dennis

If I had to make a bet, I'd say it'll be a 2 cylinder version of the Rocket III. I'm hoping for a twin like ours though. Lop off one of the Rocket's cyclinders and displacemnet would be around 1,532cc. That's smack dab in the middle of the 1200-1800cc range.
I went to the Athens Motorcycle Exhibition yesterday and had a chat with the Triumph Importers for Greece. The owner of the company admitted that Triumph had a bigger twin cylinder cruiser in the works but that it would not be on the market before 2007 (or even 2008).
He also thought it would be between 1200 and 1500 and more than likely 1500cc.
I suspect though, that the launch date he mentioned might be a bit of camouflage and then again, it might not.

OK, Let's improve the rumor. A twin inline turbocharged 6 cylinder with drive shaft. That would be two RocketIII motors stuck end to end, 4600 cc 280 HP with a 12 speed transmission delivering 292 ft/lbs of torque. 0-60 in 1.3 seconds. Leather covered rider saddle with three pillion pads to the rear. 98 inch wheelbase with forward controls and a 66 degree rake on the front end. I feel like an imaginary kid, Dennis

OK, 0-60 in 1.3 seconds.
The leather saddle will also be offered with optional Velcro attachments for for the rider's butt . . .

It would also need to have a flush handle!

Triumph has cruisers. What they need is a mid-sized tourer, with the pegs/floorboards under one's knees, not out by the front wheel. The Trophy 900/1200 was a great model, albeit slightly top heavy......(but then, I'm an old guy. What do I know?)

Hope they keep the look of the BA. 1200 to 1500 cc would be just fine. Hope we don't have to wait until 2007 or 2008 because I'm getting older by the day !!!!!

I hope they would pare down that gawd-awful looking radiator, or make it air or oil cooled. I'd have no problem plunking down the cash for an R-3 if if weren't for that huge grill. Looks like a truckload of bricks ran down the flying nun. Sorry, it's just not for me.

Hey Cody,
I agree, but my Bassett Hound got run over by a brick truck. He drug his little flat butt back to the house on his front legs whining, and died a few minutes later when I got to him. He looked up at me, knowing everything would be OK cuz daddy's here, then he died. Sad day, But the new Rocket is one PugUgly motorcycle.
I love my TBA, but would rather have my Bassett hound back than a new Rocket.
