New to the site, just bought a new o8 (EFI) America with the standard pipes, Sounds like a sewing machine any ideas or suggestions on the best pipes to fit.....?
Want to be head turning but not too loud as to offend.
Thanks

My buddy rides with Sceptre pipes. They sound awesome on these bikes. Not crazy loud but you will get some heads to turn. I have some short TORs on mine and some say it sounds awesome when I get on the gas but I think they are too quiet period. I hear the EPCO's are great sounding pipes too but I have not heard them myself yet.

Theirs a lot of mufflers that will work on your bike. I have D&D's, They seem to be about middle of the road loud. They say they can hear me coming about 1/4 mile away when I a rapping it out.

Hi Mark and welcome to the site
I have an 08 EFI Speedmaster, if you change the pipes you will have to change the mapping. I have put the TORs on mine which make it sound a little more louder and does not affect the hassle associated with loud pipes off the police.
The pipes that are your bike have CAT in each pipe, which makes it sound like a sewing machine..

Ray, thanks for the mapping tip hopefully that won't be to much bother.....?

Welcome to the site, Mark. Your right, these machines sound awful with the stock exhaust! I like my TORS, but they only sound a little loud when "opening it up". Your dealer should be able to re-map your bike, no problem.

there is good news! the new EFI TORs are now available! mine were put on just 2 days ago, and it makes a huge difference. not too much noise at idle, but when rolling on the throttle, it sure does sound pretty, imho. and, the remap that goes with it will definitely give you some extra power/speed. 2nd used to be so darn short (almost useless), now, it's one of my favs.

I see that there are 2 versions of the TORs on the Triumph website. a short and long version (Though I can't see much difference on the photo) Anyone know what difference there is between the 2?

Short TORS sound and look better in my opinion. Have them on my EFI. They are loud enough without being too loud - not to upset anyone if you know what I mean.

Some peoples loud is others quiet. I personally think TORs are very soft spoken. Bubs and Epcos sound good to me. I have Scepters, the king of sound.

I really liked the sound of my Bubs compared to the TORs.

I have Bubs and wouldn't be without them. They seemed loud at first but now they seem just fine, if anything a little too quiet!! They have a nice rumble at idle and settle down to a nice purr with speed. The sound when accelerating hard is awesome. If I were you I wouldn't be afraid to offend with loud mufflers -- remember those cars are out to kill you. Better heard than polite. When you replace the stock mufflers you will have to put in new jets. Don't worry, it's pretty easy -- just follow the steps on the Dinqua site (especially the part about having a good screwdriver to unscrew the jets).

Oh...my bad...didn't notice the "EFI"...my 2008 has carbs.
Even with EFI, don't you need to change the chip or something to richen the mixture when you remove stock pipes?

Are the stealers supposed to remap when they fit TORS? I had them fitted to my new bike prior to picking my bike up. I dont know if it was remapped or not. Love the sound of the short TORS.
