...what the spare connector under the tank is meant for? I'm not talking about the aux. plug (purple and black), but the other (triangular) one with three connections? Beats me...

Beleive its for a power jack, (cig ligher). Notice the round hole in the frame next to it.
Blue '03 TBA, Made in England. (50+ mpg).

Thanks, but that's not the one I mean. I know that the black/purple one connects to the power jack.

I went out and lifted the dash. On my 08 America there is a group wires that come from under the tank and were under the dash.
Plug 1 is red/blue & purple & brown wires.
Plug 2 is Red & Red/Green wires.
The above 2 plugs go to my tach.
There is a 3rd plug gray & orange wires. which I believe would go to a clock but I am not sure.

The gray and orange are for the alarm LED.
The red/blue and purple and brown is for the clock.
I don't know about the three wire connector under the tank. What color are the wires?
