Made my annual trip to one of the local casinos Friday night (Mohegan Sun). Could not belive how empty the place was.Parking was a breeze.Getting into the buffect took 5 minutes. And it did not take long at all for me and Mrs One-I to find a couple suitable machines to throw away a couple hundred bucks in. Very bored and worried looking lonly black jack dealers everywhere. Guees even the old folks and Asians have gone broke.

The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

I don't know how it is anywhere else, but in Vegas, the dealers work at minimum wage and make most of their earnings from tips from happy/hopeful players. No players, and they may as well be working at a McDonald's.

Tell me about it....I work in the nightclubs in Vegas and just got laid off because its so slow. Everyone around here is woried about their jobs. Some casinos are cutting so deep into staffing that they are even laying off valets and bell hops, that never happened even post 9/11. Not good.

Yup, I've put our over 100 job applications since being laid off in May, and only 1 live interview and 2 phone ones. Can't get a hourly job coz I'm over qualified, and just about to run out of the first 6 months of unemployment.... At least I'm getting better at making sourdough bread! Anyone interested in buying an antique flathead Harley? later, Tom.
But, what do I know?

Casinos are a mess everywhere. My wife works for Harrah's horseshoe in Hammond,In - the only thing that they got going on is the world series of poker and a couple of good stage shows. They're trying to figure out how to cut back hours so they can keep the tip rate up. And I've been collecting unemployment since May too....

Create a "tuned down" resume as well. No one will ever believe you are MORE qualified than your resume, so if you just need a "staple" job, create a basic resume (play with title of job, don't put pay rate, etc...). Don't claim a college degree if you don't want to, etc...
No one says you MUST claim 100% of your experience and education if you don't want to.
