I carry a simple mechanical device when I tour that you normally wouldn't think of. A couple of screw-slotted hose clamps, about 3 inch ones. (about the size to fit a large radiator hose) You'd be surprised how many things you can fix with a couple, or more of these. They can be hooked together to form a long "zip tie" kind of device, but are way stronger. Through the years, I've temporary fixed broken kickstands, luggage racks, coil mounts, and others. Just a friendly tip to think about.

That's good idea. Thanks for the tip.I carry zip tie's & bungee cords but nothing for a big fix.

Great suggestion! So now here is the requisite tool list for touring:
Zip Ties,
Hose Clamps,
Duct Tape,
Vise Grips (multi-wrench with crimping end)

That should about cover everything...
