After the movie last night, my GF and I saw a CONOCO station with ALL gas advetised as $2.29 a gallon. We needed gas, and the GF's car likes Premium, so in we stopped just to check it out. Premium, Mid-grade, and Regular were all being sold at $2.29 a gallon (!) at this atation. It pays (or at least costs less) to keep your eyes open.

I filled up for $1.95 at a Shell Sunday, plus we get the 5% off because we have a Shell Master Card. That takes it down to about $1.85.

How long will this last? Big Oil will raise it up after the election.

Well Rob, seein' as how it's NOW costin' ya less to drive to the polling places, maybe THAT'S Big Oil's way of contributing to the "Get Out The Vote" movement?! Did ya ever think about THAT???

(...and who knew they'd be so "civic minded", huh?!)

Look for gas prices to start going back up, after Tuesday's elections are over.

Funny! I just heard somebody ELSE just say that very same thing 'round here recently! Hmmmm...maybe there IS somethin' to that theory AFTERALL, huh?!

(I'll see you guys later...the Silverado's gas gauge is only showin' a 1/4 full, and so I'm off to the Chevron station right now...better NOW than WEDNESDAY, huh?!)

Just hit $2.19 here. I guess we're farther from the oil.

Folks, it's just that economy has use WAAAAY down here. While I'm no fan of oil companies and half-believe conspiracies, gas consumption has dropped a huge amount. Simple supply vs. demand. OPEC is cutting production just to move it back up some.

Last week in GJ, we had a good old-fashioned gas war between two stations. One cried "uncle" after it's across-the-street competitor went down to $1.77 - prices went back up to $2.19 the next day.

It really varies in CT. I paid $2.19 in Danbury yesterday, drove about 15 miles south to Fairfield where it was $2.59.
