Basically do TBA's come with them. I figured they should have something covering the battery, but my dealership said the bikes don't come with anything and that it is something that I have to buy separate, but that seems a little odd since lesser bikes come with them. Any help please?

/Ben

There is a chrome accessory battery cover... but there is a plastic one of sorts. You can still see the terminals...

After reading your post and Ben's, I'm a little confused ..

My bike has a plastic cover on the battery - no terminals are visible though.
The battery is held in place with a chrome / stainless strap with a screw at the top.

Triumph do a chrome cover which just replaces the plastic one but generally looks a bit crappy.

Brent does a good cover which completely covers the battery and looks a bit good http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/chrome_battery_cover.html

The side cover actually covers the battery terminals. You have to take it off to get the battery cover off. Mine is off like Brents because of the freak (choice I made), so I can see my terminals, like in Brents pic.

I paid $35 for a Triumph Chrome Battery cover that replaces the factory strap. You still use the black plastic battery cover. I think they look pretty nice and I got mine at a very low price. Here's a picture where you can sort of see the cover. I added a Triumph Patent Triangle metal badge to the center of my cover.

This is my only peeve with my speedys looks. The bike is a masterpiece of motorcycle art to my eye, but that battery is hideous. And to me the chrome ones while fine on a america stick out like a sore thumb on a speedy. Why triumph didn't design the left side with a cover like the right is beyond me. It of course wouldn't fit as is, but had they completely designed the left side differently i can't see why they couldn't have had a side cover there. Woulda made the bike look flawless. Bummer...

Hey Ben, Ben here too.
A chrome or stainless one will definitly look better/cleaner. The plastic one is on there so tight it actually bends a teeny bit. Just take the time to take the side covers off and familiarize yourself with how it all goes together in there, then you will know how it will look if you ever remove the side cover for the Freak or whatever.

I had to replace the stock battery about 4 months ago and discovered that the replacement Yuasa bent the stock holder/top cover to the point of mild concern when I installed it. I thought they gave me the wrong size, but there just isn't very much wiggle room on those things when you put it all back together.
